Just heard that West Perth have recruited Daniel Kerr and Andrew Krakour. Is this true? and if so, what has our club been doing in the recruiting front? Apart from getting former players, back what has happened chasing others?

I would be surprised if they have recruited Kerr as well...but you never know and if they have then back to back flags is looking good for them.
It just goes to show you that the very best teams never sit on there hands when it comes to making there squad even stronger and there i was thinking WP were one of the financially strapped clubs.

We will probably be happy with the Mitch Morton recruitment and just fill the rest of the gaps with some average no-name recuits.

I would think it is unlikely that Kerr would play for any WAFL Club. If he retires because of injury and doesn’t play any footy next year, his final years payment is outside WCE salary cap, if he does play, it is counted in the salary cap. I am assuming he is large back-ended contract, so I dare say WCE told him not to go and play anywhere next year.

Let's not get too excited about krakouer either! Best footy way behind him! Both he and Kerr would be points wasting nothing more than that!

I agree Lucifer there is no way you would recruit Kerr unless you had money and points to burn, which we don't. Anyway as someone has eluded to, he is not available to anybody.

Krakouer is an interesting possibility. He does have a brilliance about him, and is not injury prone like Kerr. Sorry Lucifer not convinced he would not have anything to offer at WAFL level.

If you had the points and the money he may have been an option.

Well done WP, they have found a way unrelated to footy to do a deal and look after his future.

Well done and good thinking.

Go back to the game against EF where Kerr had 33 possessions and kicked three goals and absolutely destroyed Perth I would have him in a heart beat he would be our best midfielder by a country mile or maybe I shouldn't rate that performance because it was only against Perth.

Spot on Peter.
Top shelf midfielders are hard to come by and when they come on the market i would be very disappointed if our club didnt show strong interest.
Our midfield lacks and Kerr would fill that void no problems!!
Kerr would be the difference imo between a club like ours finishing 5 6 or 7th or finishing top 2 or 3 make no mistake our midfield as it is right now is very pedestrian and below being a top 4 midfield.

Sorry but recruiting high $ high point players over thirty who are getting into the injury zone of their careers is too risky and not good sense from a footy dept view! I didn't say they are not great players they simply are on their way out! Perth have been the retirement home for too many 'great players' for too long with little return.

When you havent won a flag in 38 years recruiting guys like Kerr is a risk well worth taking.
I guarentee you a top club would recruit Kerr in a heartbeat if he showed any interest in playing wafl.

Just look at the reigning premiers West Perth, just recruited Krakour same age and probably same injury concerns as Kerr but it hasnt halted the best team in the comp recruiting him!

I agree we have recruited some duds and players that have come to us with bad boy reputations(spaanderman and murray) but i dont think we have recruited too many that could be classed as "great players" that have used us as a "retirement home"
For mine the above has just been plain old "bad recruiting.
We have certainly recruited some very good players from over east that just get plain old homesickness after a year or 2,thats just a recruiting risk and a risk worth taking imo.
