My understanding is the reason Ali got dropped was Pickering.

After the Swans game when they all played like shit.

Ali was singled out by Pickering, played Ressies the following week with 30+ possessions and got left in the Ressies.

He is clearly our best, and one of the comp's best clearance players.

Sorry Pickering has lost me.

Ask him if the rumours are true that Perth has signed Frank Stockley for next year.

Interesting. I rate Frank Stockley and he has always played well every time I've seen him - and he absolutely killed us last Sunday - but I would question whether this is the sort of player we should be chasing with the limited points we seem to have available.

Unless we are after a reserves flag next year.

The guy has played more ressies games than league...gee it makes you wonder.

How hard is it to draw up a list of deficient areas on field and go out and recruit players that at least are ready made league players and will take the club forward.
We have had our fair share of "Robbie Hookers"!!
High point players need to be quality..

Surely the club has to seriously look closely at all the coaching positions, the league coaches job would have to be in jepordy.

Our club sometimes doesnt like top make the hard decisions and it will probably leave McMahon in the post with the hope he will eventually gets it right so it justifies there appointment, too bad if it takes another decade for it to happen...The attitude of,we told you so,keep the faith...BS!!!!

If it came down to a choice between Smith and Pickering I know who I would pick. Maybe Pickering can go back to his old club next year. He can line up behind all the WCE assistants that Dawson will have.

I never thought I would say this but maybe the obvious coach is right under our noses. Broadbridge has a wealth of experience coaching in the AFL as an assistant and seems to speak well at the breaks. I doubt he would be able to take the position anyway because of his employment situation. I was never a great fan but this year he impressed me at times. He was initially brought in as a mentor for McMahon a couple of years ago.

Yes Stockley was very impressive in the reserves prelim. He rucked all day himself and completely outplayed Leyendekkers and Sandilands. I don't know why they even played Sandilands when they had Houghton to do the back up rucking. Stockley would probably be the main ruckman this year if he was at Subi, EF, Perth or even Swans.

I have no doubt in my mind that we have to get a coach from outside and one that has coached a team successfully in finals, hopefully a coach that has been part of the wafl.

Something just doesnt sit right with me re-Broadbridge.
He has been in the wafl scene at a few clubs for a lot of years yet has never landed a league gig, why?
Freo and West Coast ball skills were at all time lows when he was involved in those 2 AFL clubs.

Nup not for me in fact i would start fresh from senior coach to assistants and maybe slot Williams into a junior/colts development role.

If the rumours are true and Frank has signed at the club, then I personally think it is a good piece of business. Maybe there was no Seaby's, Rucks etc... available.

Lammie's name will be thrown up and yes he is a great ruckman on his day. However, the situation at Swans and why he left still hasn't been clarified. Was it the coach's fault or did Wes simply spit the dummy. Perth have had enough volatile ruckmen with a bucket load of potential over the last couple of seasons.

Frank will be 24 in March next year. Has played 26 games of League and 41 games in the reserves. Had a brilliant season this year if you bring together his 17 reserve games and 6 league games he has kicked 20 goals 13 behinds, laid 32 tackles, had 350 disposals, taken 114 marks and most importantly had 675 hitouts. And let's not forgot he won the Prendergast Medal as the best player in the reserves competition.

With Leyendekkers still developing his body and his game, Frank his an imposing unit at 197cm and 98kg's. Would be able to match it strength wise with the bigger ruckman.

He will cost 5 points if he does come across and I would like to see how he goes.

Eyres needs support from someone as he can't do it all on his own.

If the rumours are true and Sketcher has gone back to Melbourne then that frees up 10 points. (Hope not, good player of the half back line) :)

Has anybody found out whether Nick Kane's points and Julian Jacobs points get reduced in 2014 for playing over 50 games with us.

That might be a question to ask Damien? If they are reduced, frees up more points space.

I still swear that Ross Young's points got reduced in his last season at Lathlain.
