Sad news today. One of our greatest has passed.
I recall my umpiring days when I noticed this U/9 kid flying high above the others. A ball magnet that I knew he would be a champion.
His mark of the year at Carlton one of his best ever.
RIP Buzz. Thanks for the memories.

Incredibly sad news. Will never be another one like him. 7 goals on that wet day in 1978 says it all. No one else could pull that off but Peter Bosustow. RIP Buzz. Condolences to the Bosustow family.

He almost won us the game on his own in the first quarter against the wind. But, in the end the rain gods did us no favours.

Smokey, I think it was the last quarter.
We were about 21pts down and Buzz went berserk and nearly won it for us.
Everything was against us that day.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!

Amazing game, I remember the down pour in the 3rd quarter. Always thought Buzz should have won the Simpson even in a losing team but Ian Miller got it

RIP Buzz
Many fond memories watching him play for Perth, WA, Canning, Thornlie & Carlton.
I used to get all my footy, cricket, sporting stuff from either Total Sports (which Buzz & his old man Bob ran for years at Carousel) or Slater-Gartrell and sadly now we have lost both WA sporting legends in the last month or so.

DF you are right (partly), He did kick goals in the last Q. But he set us on the path to a likely win when he took a couple of screamers when we needed a good start in first Q.

The late Arthur Marshall called that freak major in the dying seconds of that epic waterlogged GrandFinal, the goal of the century, and it most certainly was,and the Buzz was definitely the most gifted and spectacular forward I’ve seen in my 50 plus years of watching WAFL,and may the great man rest in peace.

DD was at that GF and it was the most complete display of football skills I have ever witnessed and done in the most atrocious conditions. Almost dragged your boys over the line off his own boot.

A champion in the true sense of the word. RIP Buzz.

Chris Stasanowsky or currently speaking, Toby Green (GWS) are the closest I have seen to the Buz.
