You are right doggy, we need to temper the excitement from a promising off season. It will take the group time to gel and learn about their new team mates. Hopefully some new leaders emerge to drive a winning culture.
In the past we have been way behind the 8 ball in terms of talent and experience compared with our competitors so we should at least start the 2024 season on a more even footing. Of course we are going to be optimistic and full of hope.
in regards to our 2023 profit, I expect there has been significant increase in spending in our football department from the senior coach, assistant’s and the gymnasium which was one of the first things Peter German said what we had was unacceptable. It’s had a complete makeover and there is some fantastic new equipment in there now.
There was also the hiring of a fitness group last off season. Nothing comes for nothing, it’s probably one of the areas our club has failed to invest in in the past. It has taken the appointment of a coach with the balls to look the clubs board in the eye and tell them how it is or I’m outa here.
