What are you talking about? Scored SIX goals. Outscored by 41 points in the second quarter. Lost by 39. So won quarters 1, 3 and 4 by two points. Same old story. Promising signs from a makeshift team with one awful quarter.

Some interesting umpiring decisions by a non officiating umpire.
Officiating umpire happy to call play on.
Resulted in 4 goals.
As usual the count against us.

Back to injuries, aren’t they a trend with losing teams? Chicken or the egg? Teams losing because of injuries or do teams who fail a lot seem to sustain more injuries because they don’t prepare as well as winning teams? When we had few injuries at the start of the season we got slaughtered by East Perth and since then the place has fallen into a heap.

Look at the WCE. Same shit different jumper. In previous years Fremantle were like that. Problems seem to compound themselves when you are not winning.

Watching our game against Subi, and again yesterday Subi v WCE it was glaringly obvious that Subi were very much more fitter and prepared to run harder than the others. Not only that, they were always in numbers and got the clearances so easily because they had options up with the game. Like WCE, Perth do not get players to the contest in numbers. They are just satisfied to jog around watching instead of wanting to get to where the football is.
Of the WCE players yesterday, only Witherden and Rotham were prepared to run hard. The top up were not at the same fitness level. That is why WCE are on the bottom of the WAFL table. And we are very marginally ahead of them which may or may not be the case at season end.

In a nutshell, Perth does not have sufficient players at the right fitness level to be considered a finals contender. Each year we get told pre-season that the players are fitter than they have ever been. That is complete hogwash and until the coaches, the players and the fitness people wake up then we will be a bottom two side for the next 45 years.
