WAFL Colts Team for month of April has been announced and Perth has 1 representative - Jack Avery who came via Claremont. Well done on the selection Jack, named in the back pocket so would be getting plenty of opportunity.
WB why would Perth recruit Avery from Claremont and then only play him in the Colts?
Also I thought Colts aged players were off limits from recruitment unless they are not wanted or on the particular Colts club squad list?
Possibly to play enough games to qualify and be selected in the U/18’s championship?

I am not sure there has ever been a Colts games played qualification to be selected in the WA 18s team DD?
Many havent played Colts footy in seasons past and been chosen to play for WA, Glen Jakovich for example played 3 years of Teal Cup (as it was known then) whilst playing League (SF) and school footy (HSHS).
The side is usually picked on form whether that be Colts footy, League footy or PSA footy, Logan McDonald & Denver Grainger-Barrass would have played League all last year and then been selected for WA in the 18s if we had a championship.

Maybe Avery was injured in the pre season and needed some game time under his belt before playing senior footy?

He played in all pre season and intra club scratch matches. The club stated from the start that was the plan to play the first 2 months in the colts. I’ve got no problem with that, if our backline was having injury problems and undermanned in the seniors perhaps that plan might change.

Colts Team of 2021 has been named , 26 players including emergencies and surprisingly not one representative from PFC!

No surprise there WB. The cupboard is bare.
