Congratulations young man a huge honour to be taken at pick 4 by the Sydney Swans. Who better to train with as a key forward that the best key forward in the last 10 years and another former demon Buddy Franklin.

Going to a club with a great culture and well coached. Will be watching your career with interest and thank you for your superb debut season in the WAFL and the passion you showed in the Perth jumper.

Nathan O'Driscoll stays at home selected at pick 27 by Freo to join his sister as a Fremantle Docker. Well done Nathan.

At least we can now confirm that McDonald is an out DF.....not sure why you would feel sorry for the kid DF....an opportunity to be mentored by Buddy or by Fraser, no brainer TBH....great for the Perth footy club having the young fella go top 4, could of easily been top 2. As for O'Driscoll, congrats to the young fella, I guess the Perth fans won't appreciate him cutting up Perth's midfield next year for Peel....though looks like the sort who easily play AFL from the off next year.

No we can’t count McDonald as an out, he hasn’t moved to Sydney yet.
Not looking forward to O’Driscoll playing against us next year.

Yes he is a good player.
But I think we may have the midfield that overcome Peel.

Happy to see Jayden Hunter not taken in the Rookie draft.
I think he may debut for us in 2021.

Quite a few WA boys will now be asked to come do pre season at certain clubs who have kept spots open on their ridiculously long playing lists with a mind to adding them after.
Oh and then we have the mid season draft(s) as well!

Agree BH, the whole system and number of different drafts just says to the historic state leagues that they do not matter and we will take as many opportunities as we want to rape your comps. The main draft and rookie draft is all there should be and the min age should be 19. How much better prepared would these boys be for AFL with 1 or 2 WAFL league seasons under their belts.
