Well done Fraser well deserved. I thought he showed great leadership. Obviously Logan McDonald was outstanding and would have been incredible if he pinched a F&B in his first year of senior football while still being eligible to play colts and Jacob Conglio had an outstanding year.

What has taken the gloss of it slightly is the news that the Eagles want to have their reserves resume in the WAFL next season which means McInnes, Grey and Fisher automatically revert to being WCE reserves players.

McInnes has already requested to be released by WC as he wants to stay a Demon and the other two are probably wait and see at this stage. JT has said Perth would have to pay a 15k transfer fee for McInnes.

Yeah right, pretty sure max fee is now 10k not 15k and did Perth receive 10k from WC to secure the services of Fraser when he automatically defaulted to being a Perth player once the Eagles delisted him?

Well deserved Fraser.
A pity that the medal results are yet to be posted on the club website.
Good question DD. Another question...would Fraser become a 1 point or a 10 point player if he is cleared to Perth ? If so, "double whammy" a transfer fee and points. He should still be a 1 point player even though it will be a clearance NOT a de-listing.
As I see it if all three want to stay at Perth their points value should remain as is but it may cost the club up to $30,000 for clearances.
I guess WCE will be pleased to get that money as they come off a Covid affected season and may pay $450,000 to have a reserves side again, not that they really need it.

1 point Smokey, if you look at the budget or club list Matt Rogers is a 1 point player for us even after spending 6 seasons at SD.

I hope that you are right DD.
But another question arises. What effect does the likelihood of WCE having a reserves side leave us in regard to Will Schofield? One would imagine he may rather stay with his mates at WCE than come to Perth. He would probably be on more coin doing that. Points wont matter either way but another transfer fee looms.
Hopefully he has already committed to Perth.

Home grown players are always going to be 1 pt players....didnt Perth get 30K for when WCE initially drafted McInnes? Can't see how Perth would have to pay WCE 10K to get him back...though even if you do, you guys are still 20K in the red.....

That would be a pity if confirmed, but frees up 10 points.

Yes Smokey frees up 10 points for the recruitment of a real ruckman.
I have a theory that if you are going to spend 10 points then you spend it on a player that you target.
Not saying Dela was not worth it but I am saying he was not targeted and came via referral.
Sorry he is going but we now have an opportunity.

Fisher, McInnes, and Grey are off our list on the website. WCE might relent on McInnes (should be a 1 point player) but hard to see them relenting on the others. And Schofield? Who knows. It may depend on whether he sees a future in coaching. If he's just interested in playing footy he may come to us. Negotiations should take place with his original club; not the WCE. I don't have a lot of confidence in our recruiting at all. There's going to be a lot of ex-AFL players around. To be fair, we can't get to them at this stage due to travel restrictions. It means we're going to have to get innovative. Possibility that a player from EP may come to us.
