The rumour has been that he will be with us next season.
His & Masten's wife have a cafe close by.
Need to lock it in asap.

Are we talking about Nathan Vardy, DF? Schofield will be 32 and Vardy 30 next year. However, they have both played little footy this season, so they should be pretty fresh and injury free. I'd still like a fast run and carry mid/winger.

Ted the rumour included Vardy also coming.
He hasn't been delisted yet.
Hope to hear about these 2 soon.
They would would put the icing on the cake.
I also like the hearsay about Mayne.
Snare him if he comes home and offer him an assistant coach role.

Ted a mid as well as Masten, Yeo and Byrne being fit?
Byrne's problem this year was illness so hopefully his body is okay.

I agree with those 3 coming back into the midfield we are ok.
Imo we need a pacey small crumbing forward,that’s what we have lacked at the feet of the talls and when the ball carries off hands over the pack.

I'm not knocking our starting midfield, but aside from Byrne, there is no-one who really breaks lines. I liked Richardson on a wing, so maybe he and Byrne can add the class to a midfield that has plenty of grunt. Agree a small forward would be good, but they are hard to come by. Apart from Knott and Ninyette, does any club have a good small forward?

Ted re- there age,as the saying goes, our Premiership window is well and truely open now.
Get them in if possible.

I cannot disagree with comments so far on this thread.
If we get all our midfielders fit for next season I do not have any problem.
We will still have the option of Colledge and Fisher (hopefully) as backup clearance players.
Small forward?? What have we got developing? McPartland has proved his worth ( must improve his goal kicking) and Hayward is a promising type. Both ball magnets. Perhaps we actually have one or 2 others in the wings with potential.

I think Schofield will give us that nasty edge our backline has been missing and that will free up the likes of Sinclair, Taylor and Coniglio to run through the midfield.

I still hope Mitch Lague can get his body right.

Someone at the club needs to give Wiley or Lally a call and spend one day a week with Conor McPartland teaching him the art of goal kicking both snaps and set shots because he clearly knows where to go to find the footy.

Will be no McDonald next year and most likely O'Driscoll as well so maybe Vardy, Stubbs and Harry Quartermaine can step up and find those 5 marks and 3 goals a game we are going to miss.
