I reckon there will be a twist this year, I said 5-6 weeks ago that CL are no where near as dominant as the past 3 seasons and are vulnerable. Since then they have lost to Subi, looked very ordinary against a depleted Falcons with pressure applied when leading by 8 goals. Get a birth in the top 4 and its a chop up for mine !

Leedy Claremont should have won by 10 goals, the Tiges just cruised after half time as the game was already over by then. No Blackwell, McGovern, Neats, Handley or Schammer played on sat too.

Cant believe some of you blokes writing Claremont off ..do so at your own peril!
Saw the game live & WP fought it out to the end like WP sides always do but Claremont just cruised in the 2nd half & continue winning with players the calibre of Blackwell, Handley, Schammer, McGovern, Neates etc to still come back from injury ..scary really!! :S

Swans have beaten the other 3 teams in the 4 apart from Claremont and we are an average side so not sure why these other teams think they are so well placed to knock off Claremoent when they cant beat Swans..

I gotta disagree, I think we are a better outfit this year than last season. New players to the side this year :
Seaby - having arguably the best ruckman in the competition helps enormously.
Browne - hardly played last year. A quality footballer, nobody here will dare disagree with that. Brilliant skipper.
Winmar - i think this bloke may get another afl shot. Decievingly tall, gives us genuine pace off the back flank and has nice skills.
Williams - this bloke has been the surprise packet. A cool headed defender who has slotted into the back line. Is good man on man and has a good burst of speed too. (did he ever show anything at Swans?)
Hamp - played mostly reserves last year, and was really bad in the few league games he played. Has astounded everybody this year with his form turnaround since being de listed. Now looks a confident, effective tall forward and has filled Tom Lees shoes admirably.
Yu - tough lock down defender who is doing his job.
Davies - the big utility has looked comfortable at league level.

All we have missed from last year is Mitchell. Swift, Stevenson, Walton, Nisbett, Weedon, Lee, these blokes have been replaced by a better bunch of footballers i reckon. I'm certainly not declaring that we're going to win the flag, theres alot water left to go under the bridge yet, but it takes a brave or perhaps foolish man to declare we can't win it.

Totally agree, Claremont's only enemy is complacency. Otherwise the Tigers are at least 6 goals better than any other team in the competition.

I never rated Seaby. I dont watch AFL much, the only time I saw Seaby - Luke Newick used to towel him up. But I've been really impressed with what I have seen of him this year. He was quite brilliant against Subi a couple of weeks ago.

I think you underestimate the value of Mitchell & Lee. Medhurst back in a month hey? Saw him today he was in pain & was scared to even cough...hahaha the fun of broken ribs. But in saying that i agree the tiges are by far the best team this year.
