Anch: your right -- he kicked quite a few goals too especially in a weak side. Never heard of Hynes. Did he also play for Claremont or another club?

Anchor and Ark Royal, former Footscray ruckman Peter Hines is the fella in question.

Only a short-arse ruckman at 6'2" in the old language - these days he'd be a flanker at best.
Hines had four years at Claremont and was a teammate of Geoff Blethyn's in 1973-74.

Around the same time, there was a left-footed HFF (in the mould of George Young/Neil Randall) came over from Richmond to join the Pussies.

He was well regarded at Richmond, but from memory had some domestic issues (I may be wrong here), and felt it best to get out of Bleak City.

I remember him well, because in the good old days, you could get a job transfer in the Commonwealth Public Service (HMC) if you were well connected.

BC may also remember him.

Oborne seems to have been swapped for Kevin Worthington

In the 1972 Grand Final, Grump?
I seem to remember Hines was a bit of a loose cannon.

The mid to late 1970's saw a few eastern staters relocate their playing careers to WA such as:

Dean Herbert - Perth
Vince Catoggio - Subiaco
John Wise - South Fremantle
Noel Carter - South Fremantle
Wayne Delmenico - South Fremantle
Ian Thomson - East Fremantle
Colin Waterson - Perth/East Fremantle
Bruce Tschirpig - East Fremantle/Perth
Wayne Duke - East Perth/Claremont
Ben Jager - West Perth
John Begg - Subiaco/South Fremantle

Can't remember what year Gordon Casey went to Swan Districts - might have been 1978
