Not really surprised at this. He has a pretty good career in the Sports industry and probably wants to concentrate on this. Gives the Tigers a head start to recruit someone. I wonder who would be on their list?

Would ex Claremont player and now Perth Colts Coach Andrew Ruck be a candidate?
Has Perth on top and spent a couple of seasons as a senior assistant I think.

Kepler Bradley would be way ahead of Ruck - he is the current ressies coach, wants to coach league oneday, has a profile, and AFL system experience. All depends on if he wants it or not

I agree with all that but who were the bigger gooses that not only appointed him but gave him a contract extension when he still had a year to serve.
That appointmet set this club back close to a decade imo.

Not surprised he's going, the Tiges are the great underachievers this season given the undoubted talent in their squad. Too many close losses means the attitude is not there to finish teams off. Would be a good coaching gig to get, ready made team for the right candidate that should challenge for finals next year.

He was a hard coach to get a gauge on, such a huge gulf between our best and worst football. As he said in the paper having such crap facilities over the last three seasons has certainly been a hindrance so he lucked out there.
I wouldn't mind seeing an untried bloke in Kepler or Ruck given an opportunity, with Kepler probably having the better credentials. I think we should be getting between two and as much as five players drafted this season so there could be a little bit of dough to play with in regards to coach and player recruiting. Petrevski Seton is a certainty, Waterman a near certainty, and three or four other possibilities. De boer, Mitchell, and Tom Lee are our main recruiting targets should any of them be delisted - even one of those would be nice.
