Here we are with only five rounds to go for the season. Ballajura sits comfortably on top three games clear of nearest rival Melville and with a huge percentage and a game in hand over the next three teams. 

It is not possible for the Royals to be knocked off top spot so the question is who can seriously challenge them in the finals?

Finals pressure does strange things to some sides psyche. We have seen undefeated sides end up loosing the big dance and sometimes being knocked out in straight sets although I can’t see that happening here. 

Did Noranda go out in straight sets last year in C4 after finishing minor Premiers? Finals has seen varying outcomes and is anyone's game on the day.

Pretty sure Gosnells did it a few years back too, went through season undefeated then lost gf to basso. Even just finishing top, week 1 of finals off, win week 2 then you have another week off. You go into a grand final having played 1 game in 4 weeks. It’s hard. 

I've always thought in a top five finals system that second can often be the best position to finish. Home qualifying final and the double chance against the top side the next week if you win. Lose that and a home preliminary final.

I went and watched my young bloke play C1 for Melville against High Wycombe today. Not a bad game where Melville came back from 5 goals down to win by 5. The major downside was the HW ruckman deciding to belt the Melville ruckman for which he was red carded but then gave the Melville runner a whack as he was going off. I hope it's reported to the Police and that clown charged with assault as it was completely uncalled for and without provocation.

I'm not surprised mate.  I was sat on the verandah in front of the social premises and I found it very disappointing a large section of the HW supporters near me clapped the turd as he was coming off for acts of gratuitous violence.  That says a lot about the type of people at that club.

And just like that they have their first loss.
