Rumour has it that both the league and the reserves from DM will be forfeiting this week.

Would seem logical to insert a bye for each team now plying DM and attribute them the forfeit.

You cannot have uncertainty each week for clubs, financially its not fair

Thoughts?

Oh I've known all year, since about April, that we're in serious trouble.
We have uncertainty each week if blokes are going to turn up. We've paid outstanding amounts for a couple of players, who have turned up and played 2 or so games.
However, I agree that it's unfair on the other teams in the comp. I just wish we had a magic elixir to solve the problems, but that is going to take time and hard work.

Hey mate,

Not an enviable position at all, but it can be done. Lots of clubs have managed to do it, like you said takes a lot of hard work.

I would think C3 would be too hard of a grade as well at the moment, maybe a move down to C4 or E1 and start the climb again?

Wishing you and DM all the best mate, hopefully it can be turned around.

We're thinking and discussing E grade at this stage NICEGARY
Essentially have to start from scratch again with more players that will support the club.

Any idea what the plans will be for the rest of 2021?

Cheers mate,

Yeah, the players have been talking to me about recruiting some more players to get through the rest of this season. We've had 60+ registered but that doesn't seem to have helped us. We also have 10-15 injured at the moment so we can only see where they are at.
I can tell you there are a few players, plus past players that are really hurting from this.

Very sad to see.- hate it when Clubs are in trouble.

Given the forfeits in Reserves this year, I suspect E Grade will be forced by the League.

Others have been there and come back up - trust you will too.

Personally, I hope you don't have to pull out of Reserves, however $300 per game forfeited is hard to come up with should it happen again.

It sounds like you guys are doing the best with a bad situation.

Only advice I can give is do your best to start a colts side mate, the flow on from that is golden, takes 2 or 3 years but they end up becoming your 2s and 1s players.

All best

Yes, we tried getting colts going this year but that failed for a significant reason and the local juniors don't appear to want to talk to us, and given past history that I am uncovering, that's understandable. I will be talking to them again, with the assistance of the PFL, and WAFC, I hope, to explain and get them to understand that we are a different club now and yes, one that has been brought to it's knees.
Like Winston Churchill is credited with famously saying, it is darkest before dawn.

Birdman, personally, the PFL, after a rocky start to our relationship (possibly more due to me than them), have been fantastic.
