Lack of motivation sounds worrying - hope your not going out in straight sets again .

I think the neighbours were always going to be up for it after getting raped the last time on their own porch mate - they had a few good performers & stifled things at times
There are about four very fundamental reasons a merger will not happen by the way

Bazza.... SF are in a good place at present....combination of sound recruiting of the likes of Hockey,Cook,Pickett,Wilson,Saunders,Higgins and Pullman from other clubs plus the added luxury of an sudden influx of recent AFL rejects in Garlett,Shaw,Schloithe,Vandeleur,Main,Johnson,D'Olio and Hams coming back to SF relatively young in age after extremely short AFL careers....mate I wish EF had the luxury of having the AFL careers of Taylor,McPharlin,Sandilands, Swallow, Ryder,Kennedy, Cripps, Yeo etc cut short and all returning to EF in their early twenties....though Marsh, Eardley,Macca and LA when available have helped EF play competitive footy at times...also it would be tempting to take the SD route and blame injuries but in all honesty that is part n parcel of footy....

But hey that is footy and TBH EF are the founders of their own problems of today, through some poor on/off field decisions over the last decade.....really dont think a merger would help, probably a ground share would tho...like I said SF are in a good position at present and kudos to SF for having some good fortune and decision making getting themselves there.....hopefully you guys can make the most of this moment with a flag or two....touch wood EF can recoup some of their AFL investment, but sadly most go on to forge 100 plus/ 10 year plus AFL careers and come back past it or dont come back because they have been away too long....do miss those competitive derbys of old...sad to think there was a lack of motivation in SF performance yesterday due to a lack of competitive stimulus....hopefully Subi, Peel and EP can provide you guys with one.

Freeze EF havent been a power now for 20 years , this is the worse period in the clubs history , wtf went wrong?

Mate if I knew we wouldn't be having this conversation...LOL......could easily blame the AFL for taking the heart of the clubs development during that time.....couple of Brownlow medallists, All Australians, AFL club F&B....but hey where has all the draft money gone?..but christ all clubs get hammered by the AFL these days...so no excuses I guess.....if you invest and prioritise in development then expect to be raped and pillaged.

reckon if EF got a few back like SD did from the AFL this year and SF have done over the last 2 years EF would be back up there.....all it takes is a couple of WAFL quality guys to change ones fortune....SF had a 4 year finals hiatus before 2016 when you got all those ex AFL boys back.....Farmer and Bell came back and played a huge part in your last flag......

On the question of the co habitation and merger , I would think that both clubs leaderships would be derelict in their duty to not keep the discussions on the table of

1. EF cohabitation at Fremantle Oval

2. Possible mergers of the two clubs into the future, I make this comment as we should never say never as we do not know what the landscape will be in the WAFL into the future?

On the question of going out in straight sets you would hope that the playing group and coaching staff are hellbent on not allowing this to happen this year. We could potentially play the Fremantle reserves team in Round 23 at Mandurah and the following week in a Qualifying final? That would be interesting.

ground sharing at Freo Oval makes so much sense to me but I was reading the other day it's been put on the backburner for at least 5 years which for mine is just crazy given the state of disrepair at East Freo Oval.
