Did top quality players like Kelly & Pickett come through Sheehan's beloved State 18s system Southy?
In all honesty they are both better than half of the players currently on AFL lists (approx 800 players).

22 points up at one stage in the last quarter??? Did the players think that the game was in the bag? If that is the case there is still big question marks over the Premiership favourites tag that is being bestowed upon this group.... State Bye this weekend comes at a good time for the club to regroup and refocus.
The dismal and inconsistent form at times of our key forwards is very disappointing..

Kelly , Schloithe and Pickett should be the only players considered for state duties IMO.

Souths have forever been an exciting team who plays great run on footy. There are going to be days like these. They'll get their game going often enough with the talent they have to make the top 4 (5th at worst) and then just hope for luck in finals. Might get it, might not.

Unless you are either WC reserves or Freo reserves you will never as the comp stands now be able to win a premiership from outside the top two positions on the ladder??

That is why the slip up on Saturday may come back to bite the lads on the backside later in the year....

Mate your team's a bit flakey, always have been. They can be down by 9 goals at 3/4 time and win (I was there) or up by 3g in time on in the last and lose. Just what your team does, must be exciting to watch.

It was 46 points at 3/4 time - Perth got the first to make it 52 but yes South stormed home to win

Absolutely mate - the alignment scored 11 behinds , and we handed them 4 of them & lost by a point , it says the little thing was not taken care of
But I've said it before , rather have the lessons in qualifying than september

Geez , maybe we should play state games every week. Saundo would be BOG every weekend
