Decent game to watch on TV, looked like a fair crowd. Sharks gave it a real go for 2 and a half quarters but the class of the Doggies came to the surface in the end. Luckily from the SF point of view the poor kicking for goal didn't come back to bite them.

Get a bye now at 5-1 & 20 points in the bag
Bit of a freshen up and then there's some business to take care of

What a struggle the first 2and a bit quarters where.. I think the 10 day break was very difficult for the lads to shrug off.

To their credit and after a few positional changes by the coach the lads went thru the gears and put the gallant gummies away.
Hockey looked sore late in the third hope he comes up, otherwise bank those points and move on to the next game.

Slow old start , Sharks had a crack , we got moving big time with a goal blitz , good to see it turned on , just over 3000 there not bad given EF crap form, don't know about 4 pm start time , bit late I think today , I noticed a lot leave early getting kids home for tea and school next day , think it's the biggest crowd so far this season.

Just thinking about the catalyst for when SF got their game in motion. For a majority of two and a bit quarters EF played a pretty disciplined man on man style and were excellant at the clearances.
The move of Marlion Pickett into the ruck and push forward when resting was a masterstroke by the coach. His dynamic style around the contest and his ability to win one on one contests is as good as anyone in the WAFL atm.
I think Strom is under the pump now and I would like to see Solomon perserved with as the back up ruckman.

With respect to the opposition , they threw everything they had at us and the old kitchen sink over the first yeah 2 & a bit quarters.
The response to being 3 goals down was strong , dominated that last stretch
Strommy does a great chop out job & is a very good kick for goal and we have Josh Pullman who'll be back next game I think
Sol did well around the ground in the ressies - that's what he had to do , he's learning the caper

Southerner my point was that up until that point the Sharks to their credit had us under the pump to break the shackles and break the game open...The move of Pickett seemed to inject something that was missing at the clearances up until that moment.
I have always been a huge fan of having two ruck men and particularly if they can go forward and unbalance opposition teams and kick goals. Solomon IMO can do that. Strom has had some very quiet matches thus far this year and could be due for a break in the ressies to regain some form.

Yeah I think it's been a balance thing mate , I'd love to see if Sol could come in permanently just don't know if it would work against every team , maybe that's the thinking as well.
Tell you what though , there's a young guy Matthew Parker in the ressies , might be something there with this one as well

Late Edit: Marlion is just another little notch above , he just lifts others around him too you could see it - hard not to appreciate a bit of magic it's little wonder he was given number 25

Yep we are blessed with watching his skills week in week out. Certainly upholding the tradition in the jumper.

Parker is an interesting one, got brilliant leg speed and a good size. Another one that has slipped through the PFC net...Great for us though.
