As Percy said this morning mate, South had lots of outside blokes that would have played on the banks if there wasnt a fence they were out that wide getting easy useless kicks. He also said Curleys game plan doesnt make any sense when you have Shaw and Saunders as targets
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

I was not there Swandog to see for myself on the weekend so I will rely upon others views. Percy is a knowledgeable football person.

My past criticism of our game plan has been in the past the very slow exit from our defence to our forwards. Percy is quite right we have some great tall forawrds in Shaw , Saunders , Strom in our forward 50 and yet we somtetimes chip the ball around in our midfield for the sake of racking up possesions.

I also believe we have a number of players in our defence and midfield who do not make good decisions and their kicking skills are poor when under pressure. Some of those playersare very experienced and have been around for awhile.
It has been an Achilles heal for us for sometime, TC needs to sort it out and sort it out quickly. Starting this weekend would be good :)

When Hockey is back to join the almost unstoppable Kelly at the clearances and stoppages your defence wont have to much to worry about boys as the ball will be in your forward half more often than not.

Problem was those big blokes up forward got blanketed out all the day, the SDFC key defenders had a particularly good day, the chipping around came from a lack of confidence to deliver.

That is exactly why TC and his coaches need to have a plan B, C and D.Not sure they have that at this point.

Did they try to structure the fwd line differently? Did they try to play Shaw and or Saunders in different roles? Shaw on ball for a short time. it sounded like apart from Edwards fwd there was not a huge amount of imagination from our coaching group? as I have said I wasnt there so am prepared to apologise if there was attempts to do things differently.

This loss by your guys is a bit hard to take in after the Subi game, but credit to Swans for finding a way to win.

Against us you had a perfect mix of inside and outside players, for 3 qtrs you smashed us at the packs/clearences but also ran hard to spread creating the loose man and that made it easy to provide quality inside 50's to your forwards.

TC would have learnt so much from the swans game and I'm sure you'll take it out on Peelmantle this week and smash these pretenders.

It's all on the day Seagull, if you're not mentally switched on you get found out like we did. Every team is beatable on any given day. Footy is played between the ears. You don't just lose your ability in a week. Everybody can play, it's just that some play better than others on that given day.

I hope you are right SS, although I have seen us fall short at the last hurdle far too often.. ;)

Spot on Roman, on the day the mind set wasn't there, expecting another day out like last season was a sure fire recipe for a fark up. Which I warned about.
