Sat thru the ressies gf last year watching my team get walloped by a team that looked every bit organised and playing footy at a league level hence the question. Going on that info it shows players will get chances at senior level if they stick around and work hard at improving their game, something a few of our borderline guys who look up to playing league at SD should take on board (Wilson, Riddoch, Turner, Smith etc).

In your opinion would Sokol be a certainty for league selection if still at SF this year?

Absolutely in the mix
But I think Ben needed a change of scenery & a different opportunity mate - heaps of natural talent & goalsense by the truckload which you've already seen at Subi

We got shit lucky getting Steve Edwards in somehow - this kid is something

IMO I believe he would be in the mix but behind Blaine Johnson , Cook and Schloithe who are like for like players.
Best of luck to him on the change of scenerary he is a talented player and still a young man.
Steven Edwards has been a very handy replacement for Cory Deolio has genuine leg speed and his forward pressure has been sensational so far this season. Compliments to Cliff Collard who was instrumental in getting Edwards to the Bulldogs in a player swap with Dyan Ross.
Apart from Simon Panizza and the two Carter lads who struggled to find the passion and desire to play at WAFL level after coming off AFL lists the others mentioned would have been at best back up players this year IMO.
Youngsters who have come in and are performing consistently well at reserves level and improving week by week are Colts eligible Florenca, Collard , Tyson Pickett, Zac Strom , Mirco , Mc Phail , A hSui , Dragovich etc probably the cleansing and changing of the guard that was needed.

I looked at it before the season and it's the 3rd full scale reconstruct since the 2009 premiership

Sellar and White would be playing reserves and stunting development of other players. K Hams and Parry losses as both would go thru our midfield, terrible news for Parry having to deal with a third knee recon. Deolio"s 2015 form was just ok IMO , kicked goals but his defensive work and efforts were sometimes questionable.

I watched the derby on TV and I've got to say if I was an opposition player I'd try to take Shloithe's head clean off the first time he dropped his knees at the slightest bit of contact. If I got 10 weeks it would be worth it if it meant he had second thoughts next time around. It's a blight on the game and time the umps stop paying him frees. I believe Hams is just as bad but didn't see much of it on Saturday from him.

I am sure Schoey will be instructing your players to win the contested ball first lads.

Head high contact has always been head high contact under the laws of the game.

there's a difference between incidental head high contact and deliberately extracting frees by taking actions to facilitate that contact.

In recent years the interpretation of head high contact was changed so as not to reward those who deliberately ducked. Perhaps it is time to apply the same interpretation to those who deliberately drop their knees seeking free kicks for head high contact.
