Actually into its 13th season of the sponsorship deal mate and the initial agreement was for $250k over 5 seasons I would suggest it may even be more now. And Clouseau is banging on about their first $50k deal!

I don't know what all the fuss is about, all/most ovals have a marketing name and the clubs benefit from that marketing dollar. Changes nothing for me, Comm bank oval will always be Frep oval, Browne cows oval will always be Lathlain, Medibank will always be Leederville and Domain will always be Subi oval etc etc... until the end of 2017!!

Yep I see your point Grassy I think they just code in the name change and it impacts on all seasons I agree it is odd to retrospectively name venues however it appears to happen across the board on that site.

Given the amount of people who visit it I don't think it will impact much on traditional names.

Last night- "it's 50k a year, and I would doubt a crappy work boot company would have as much money as Bendigo Bank" ....SD & SB sign a naming rights deal for Basendean Oval way back in 03/04 for $250k over 5 years that continues today!

In fact Bendigo Bank have already had naming rights at the Chunderdome for the last 5 years.
