Went for a look last night and left with mixed feelings. Didn't have many missing really but had two patches of nothing football (10 mins each) where we easily coughed up 8 goals in this 20 mins period.

Believe the ressies had a 2 goal win and the colts won by over 20 goals. Freeze will be pleased to hear that Bailey Matera and Ben Sokol played for SF. Thought they were at EF old fella?? Hmmmm - lying to the dogman before a real game has even started??

Anyway the league side seemed to be a little troubled when heading into the forward line only kicking 8 goals following up from 6 last week. Hasleby certainly threw people around after 3/4 time when we only trailed by 12 points or so.

Saunders has already shown that he wants to take mark of the year every chance he gets!! That better change very quickly. Gillespie played the second half, Banner the first half along with Mugumbwa. Myles Bolger played the second half which was good to see.

Heard Lewis Harvey broke his leg in the ressies which os shocking news.

No other injuries from what I could see which was one positive.

Liked the games of Maskos and Martinez in the middle and Reece Adams was quick and strong through the packs.

Missing were Andreoli, Adam Carter, Burnett, Shergza, Borovac, Bewick (due in 6-8 weeks), and a few of the promising colts from last year. (I'd say they played in the ressies)and of course 4-5 blokes just played a half.

Got a team list but it didn't have Lee-Steere on it or Marvin Warrell.

I'll reserve the right to make any bold predictions until about round 4-6 of the real stuff.

It's still just a scratchie after all.

Doggie, Selby aint gonna sort your short term issues mate.....nor Marvin either from the sounds of it!!

glad to hear Bailey and Benny wised up and took the easy option of getting a possible league debut at SF this year....sounds like SF will need both these 17 yr olds fit and firing for their debuts in round one of the league....though I don't fancy the two local boys their chances of wading past the likes of preferred outsiders in Saunders, Gillespie, Tighe, Grima, Monaco, Banner and Selby TBH......

still don't understand after back to back colts flags SF have recruited so many players from other clubs?......Doggie are you hiding something from me mate?.....fibbing to the freezin before a real game has started??

Tighe will play ruck, Banner and Grima midfield, Monaco not for a while and Selby will start in the ressies TBH.

Plenty of room for SF premiership colts to get a game in 2013 which they will.

Carter will, Warrell will, Verrier will, Miller will, Maskos will, Martinez will, Lowrie will and Lynch will all play league games at some point this year.

Burnett, Gulley, Borovac, McIntosh, Bolger, Doughty and Schloithe have all played league footy from our colts system in the last 3 years and of course Ah Chee, Shaw, Kersten, Verrier, Newton, Dell'olio, Bootsma, Cater, Andreoli (both back I know) and Matera were all drafted from our colts from the last 3 years.

I would have thought that is a fair record Freeze of kids coming through, being successful and getting league WAFL experience or on an AFL list.

Lets stop banging on about the imports you are obsessed with and worry about EF winning a flag in the 2000's before your 1 year window clses before the host club takes half you club.

doggie, you make me so depressed....your club is one of the most powerful we have seen this decade. 2 flags since our last one...how do you boys just keep winning flags at random??? Guess I'll just have to admire the SFFC machine trundle on from a distance

gee doggie looks like Gillespie, Saunders, Monaco, Selby, Grima, Tighe, Banner, Ross, Bewick, Harvey, Macca and Miller are all gonna have to watch their backs then? No easy league games for them then this year........I wish SFFC youngsters all the best then, looks like it's gonna be an exciting year for them, the club and you SF fans.

As for obsession Doggie...each to their own mate.....you're worried about EF premiership window and I'm worried about SF development plan......good to see Reece is back though, got high hopes for that boy to get AFL listed this year.

Can't wait for the derby, the banter will be upbeat as usual between us all here on Ozfooty!!
