Watched the last half of this game on TV with the relatives. It was great to see everyone congregate into the lounge room to watch the game, and it was a great game. Certainly the best Ive seen for a while. In the last 15 minutes we had people squeezing in sitting on the corner of the couches, or standing near a gap at the front door trying to watch the box, it was good to see. Especially considering nobody followed either side. It was just intriguing to watch.

Great promotion for the WAFL a game like that.

I have to agree jardine...it was a great advertisement for WAFL footy. the commentators said over 8,000 at the ground although today's West said approx 6,000...in saying that, the West Coast Fever had 9,000+ at it's game against the Swifts on Saturday so go figure...

Great win by the doggies,it keep our season on track and the next few weeks are going to be very important.

Good debut performance from Branchi , and it looked a better balanced team with the two ruckmen allowing Higgins and Branchi to go forward when resting and creating headaches for the oppo.
Really impressed with Panizza early on when he was given the huge task of running with Anthony again. EF were really well prepared for it as all EF players in the vicinity of Panizza and Anthony certainly made his task harder by crashing into Panizza and verbally challenging him at every opportunity. Really impreseed with his mental approach to the task and he did not take a backward step. Very admirable from a youngster who has only played a handful of games, Got a bit of shit about him, and did not get fazed by the heat of a Derby.
Surprising that I have not heard anything about the Mc Gough - Kelly incident in the first quarter. One player was carried off on a stretcher? Does anyone have any thoughts?

The Kelly incident was replayed many times on the telecast and showed clearly McGough was in the process of taking possession with his eyes on the ball and his arm made contact with Kelly's temple. It wasn't either players fault and there was no intention on McGough's part. Just one of those things that happen in footy.

Great debut from Branchi, has developed a long way from a two years ago when he played in a premiership in the SWFL for the Eaton Boomers.

Is there no NOI on it at the very least? Player KO'd?

So the head is not sacrosant in this incident irespective if it is intentional or accidental?

Good news in Number 1 getting through a half unscathed in the Ressies & got a fair bit of the pill too - fingers crossed he replaces Tim this week

Schloithe will play another full game in the resies. Likely ins this week are Wilson & Martinez & maybe Saunders.

Good to see Schloithe and Martinez back, I hope we do not rush them back into the team based on past performances, dont get me wrong on their best form both are in our best team, however that should not guarantee a walk up for selection in the league team.
Reward consistent good performance and pick a team to beat the opposition from week to week should be the focus.
Agree Wilson will come back in this week, however the others may need to be patient. Our issues are the tall - mid defenders ie Strom and Gillespie were both average yesterday one of those will make way for Wilson.

I hate everything blue and white and was pretty happy last night but I have to say that McGough will be fine over the Kelly incident. Was an accident from what I saw. Not too sure what Todd Curley was on about revving the boys up about the "ordinary" incident but it worked hey? Even though it was a bit of a porkie, whatever it takes.

If Saunders, Martinez, Wilson and eventually Schloithe come back in, who misses out? And then Kelly, Verrier, Bairstow, Carter, Shergza, Collica, White, Ross are all pushing for a spot. Suppose that's good, bit of depth and pressure for spots.

Didn't think much of Branchi to be honest watching ressies last and this year but yesterday he showed something, good on him. Like Panizza, just has a crack and doesn't muck around. Dragovich will be a good player for a long time. Maybe at AFL level.

1 game separates 2nd from 8th. It's a tough tight competition. Every game important.
