Up until three quarter time, the match was close.Unusual to see South Fremantle with a goal-less final quarter. On the other hand, Swans scored 5 majors in the last term apparently and ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Some of the guys who normally play well for Souths had poor days yesterday. The team did show some fight though. I thought Swans were heading for a 10 goal victory in the first quarter but a combination of  poor decision making and skills execution by Swans and more pressure from the Dogs saw a fightback in which they did briefly hit the front in the 3rd quarter. Souths seemed to run out of gas in the last term. They have lost a lot of experience over the last few years

One guy who caught my eye, maybe because of his green helmet was Manfred Kelly ( number 6). He threw himself in to the fray showed some pace and took a nice mark and finished off with a goal. Unfortunately he got a knock in the last quarter. Hopefully he's OK.

I can imagine that it would have been hard for the players this year starting 2 games behind everyone else, now that they know Curley will be there again next season they can try and reset for 2024.

Never in it at the end.

Another year for Curley, President staying on - getting to the point might have to rethink my membership...

so much recruiting needed it will take more than 1 year's worth
not worth putting any new coach under a large pump
yet

Baz: let us just say that the press release on Curley's re-appointment came across as a wee bit strange.

I've resigned myself to the fact that whenever number 6 plays - we automatically concede 2 or 3 goals to the opposition
opposition coaches must love this dickhead, he makes it easy to run a backline

I agree changes needed starting from the top.  Getting a bit stale.
If we don't do some serious recruiting next season, we will stay with the cellar dwellers again.

Exactly Ark why only one year? Curley has had nine years and has never coached as a development coach. The situation that we are now in with an aging list and very little top end and middle talent is a result of his poor management. When will the Board wake up?
