 Very quiet on the South's thread.  Line ups anyone's guess. Hard to pick a winner. 

JL, with Subi looking at a less than full strength line up due to lots of Covid and some injuries it looks like a good contest as Souths have lost a few from last year. Hoping for a cracking game to start the season off..

Looking at wafl footy facts, Souths are leading Subi 185 to 165 wins overall. But, for  first round fixtures, Subi lead Souths 60 to 53. 

As you say,  SS none of those games were affected by Covid. Got to be one of the strangest first round games ever. 

we will be weaker from the loss of some good players and I think a lot will ride on how we cover them this season naturally
and it's a pretty good bet there'll be Covid issues at some point
it's just good to have our footy back

Listening to wafl world, Souths have a reasonable list. Some good young players. 

Where's Callum Ah Chee this week? Great to see 8 new names in our league side. No room for McCarthy, Verrier, Manfred Kelly, Newton, Abbott, Doney, Thompson, (Ah Chee). Makes us look fairly strong in the reserves.

Great to see Josh Cuneo back in the WAFL after a couple of years in the ammos post leaving EF.

Hard to pick a favourite in this one given Souths player losses from last season and Subi's severely covid/injury compromised list. Should be an even contest.

I'm expecting Souths to win, but I like some of Subi's up and coming players. They'll have a go. Should be a cracker.
