Any news about the teams guys? Still nothing posted on the WAFL site. The match is going ahead as planned isn't it?

Our team was released last night at about the time you & I were posting about the Zones & the Fremantle Oval redevelopment - it was posted up on the WAFC site for a while - but the Mandurah side was absent in entirety - all listed as outs
That was also the case for the reserves when I had a look too
The AFL arseholes have refused to release anything so now there is nothing up

Our outs will be Brock Higgins and Jason Maskos - there is a large contingent of ins that include the likes of Jarrad Doney , Kye Barker , Travis Abbott , George Wessels , Jarrod Salmeri , Hamish Free

For information - Cam McCarhty is an in for the reserves side this week

Hope that helps

It does help. I'm just getting a little concerned about a lack of any announcement from Peel.

They couldn't possibly cancel now could they? Because of grounds concerns?

It actually happened once against Subi.....just an hour or so before a league match

Mandurah has a reserves side this year & a list of 55 plus player excluding Victorian league additions so guess what will be expected to be sent a minimum contingent to a country fixture ?
One that a Host club has made significant advertising & revenue raising initiatives for in one of it's heartland zones
This could be a test of WAFC resolve as it's too late to fairly reschedule now that is certain

I see Trevor's side has for the first time released a team on a Thursday night this season - this getting ridiculous

I thought there was some discussion about the "30 hour" trip to Pingelly.

Swanny Mandurah has had 2 months to plan on sending their senior squad of 50 plus players to a country fixture - and they do have a list of 55 players excluding Victorian league extras
This has nothing to do with the extras now - they have 50 plus listed players to select
Too late to blame some ground concern as an excuse or reason not to go - shit they reside far closer than the host club for christ's sake

Still no Peel team announced.

I must admit, I'm now a little bit concerned. I hope my fears are unfounded.

What about the folks of Pingelly who have planned this occasion for weeks if not months?

What about the non-AFL listed players who want a game of footy?

What about the city folks who have booked accomodation in Pingelly overnight?

What about the pubs and small businesses in Pingelly that were looking forward to a few extra dollars from city folks making the trip down?

What about the integrity of the WAFL?

Please Peel/Fremantle...just announce the team and play the game as planned.

I think it was Longmuir on the ABC news that said a couple of days ago it was not the playing surface.  The concern was the players travelling to Pingelly.  There was suggestion they might play in the ressies instead.

Why didn't they mention this when the fixture was announced? It's too late to not to send a full strength team. There is a responsibility to the people of Pingelly.
