With the playing surface being moved close up to the old stand it will provide 20-30 m extra depth on the prison side of the ground, I agree with LH, leave the wall so it maintains that cauldren feel and the outer will be twice as deep so plenty of space for new terracing and maybe a big awning structure for some shelter on that side, and keep the old scoreboard!!

I love the old prison wall. It' a fascinating sight. I wouldn't knock down that. It's part of Fremantle history.

I agree fully, in fact I think they will have serious heritage issue with demolition of that as its at least 100 years old, there are photos of people standing on bikes to look over the wall at footy games for free from turn of last century, and I do not think it should be pulled down.

We lost some great heritage when the 1921 Gates were torn down to put the Parry Street extension through - the agreement was that they would be rebuilt, but it never happened. The replacement ones are not a patch on them.

yes SS, with the movement of the Oval, there will be ample room left on the eastern side for spectator development.

The toilet block at the hospital end will also go.

Behind the goals at the hospital end they have built a temporary stand, that could easily be extended around the pocket to provide seating as far as you liked over existing terraces. The wall as you say provides a real natural amphitheater.

The most works will be conducted from the carpark zone to the south (and in front of) the Victoria Stand around to the Hospital end banks
The outer as Baz mentioned is to be tidied up and upgraded led to believe there may be plans for a new ablution facility somewhere but that could be a part of the Hospital end project too
The Gerovich gates are being preserved I believe and that will be the entrance & no carpark entry point of course is a preferred option , well there wouldn't be any space left anyway
So the natural existing amphitheatre outlook is to be retained and expanded - the Jail gate is another unknown and could go altogether
Scoreboard must stay - it's a cracker & so easy to see she's a beauty
