Have to say the atmosphere crapped on Optus felt like WAFL 1970s style , it’s a pity McGowan stupid Covid limits could of easily got another 5000 in there.

The atmosphere would have been great at Optus with 25-30k +, that's what they would have got

maybe 20 or so, 25 plus no hope. even then a echo chamber, walking around a giant mauselalem with half the joint closed and bars boarded up, having nazi like security, drinking 9 dollar plastic cups of mid strength, getting two trains PTA not putting on specials there and back - all the time watching 100k go down the drain. Great,

And the last thing us diehard WAFL needs is another $$ubiaco situation evolving where one club has a clear and distinct advantage both financially and a mega home ground advantage come finals time.

All the noise about how great it was is coming out of South Fremantle supporters. None more louder than you. It’s a selfish attitude.

Any idea who was making the money from can bar sales? $9 a can for beers on ice from a tent with two people serving lines of supporters queuing up. Would have been a tidy profit.

Oh dear, and here is Bazza above complaining about $9 beers in a plastic cup at Optus. At least at Optus you locally brewed Ales and can enjoy the comfort of your seat and a place to safely put your cup to free your hands up. And can get out of the sun or rain if you need to and still have a fantastic view.

If costs of opening a 60,000 seat stadium is a problem then surely they can close off the top tiers like they used to do at Subi previously. I think it might have been when all finals were still played at Subiaco. Or maybe it was for GF’s?

I don’t agree with it because I was at the Collingwood v Geelong game in front of 22,000 and the atmosphere was great. But if it reduces costs then so be it.

I have no desire to have the WAFL GF permantly at Freo, sharing it around, Leederville or even Bassendean or Joondalup would not bother me at all. As South said at least they would have time to prepare. One place it wont ever be is Eagle I mean Lathlain Postage stamp Park.

No idea, but it wasn't mid and it wasnt Venues West so I guess thats good. Think all the profit had to be shared as a "neutral" ground.

You clowns really have no financial idea do you? venues west charge the same regardless of what is closed off.

turns out the WAFL made a 250K profit holding it at freo, and that will be in part going to your clubs rather than a 100K loss.

and the decision has already been made for next year they will tender out the GF again.

going well at the WAFC it seems, cant find a 100k in their budget to play the GF at Optus, what is going on at that rabble of an organisation.
