thought after the first quarter and a bit we were in for a hat-trick of scrappers but the lads flicked the switch in the third and put it away early in the last
Subiaco were light on for players and will get stronger they'll be around count on it
happy to get the 4 points and piss off quickly with them

Southerner, your boys look much fitter and stronger than last year and were able to slow us down and close us up after our fast start, then open their play up early in the 3rd and that was all she wrote. Hopefully Higgins isn't too serious, he looked a bit proppy just before halftime, one of my favourite opposition players. At this stage Souths look set for another GF appearence.

without stating the bleeding obvious - there were at least six or seven automatic selection players missing from the Subiaco line-up
we'll wait see the full strength version or closer to it
West Perth would have beaten Subiaco yesterday too

Hopefully Higgins isn't too serious? Agreed,I'll never wish injury upon a player but if Higgins isn't there I'd be alot more excited about being able to beat South. That bloke would be a formidable opponent on one leg.

Totally agree Southy! Take the four points and move on. I've never been so confident in beating Subi more than I was this time when I saw their outs. The bookies got it so wrong when the markets for the game came out on Friday. They had Subi at $1.40 and South at $2.85. They obviously didn't look at their line-up closely enough.

Yep...well done Souths. Notwithstanding we were undermanned, I was really impressed with your physicality and pressure on the ball carrier. You have a great blend of talls and smalls, and rightly enjoy flag favouritism. Hopefully we'll get a few back and make a contest of it if we happen to meet again in the finals which I can say from a Subi perspective, is no certainty.

stt: no, even the great Featherby managed a couple of poor games here and there, and, as you know, he was right up there with your mate Robert from PFC land in terms of possessions.

Yes, what a refreshing day that was.

Started a bit slow and I was a bit concerned that Subi were still getting the ball up forward easy. The bloke next to me said we should be right but I was not so sure.

But the second half dominance was a real delight to see, the determination to finish with a big win was obvious.

Pretty good atmosphere up there and decent crowd, EP provided great hospitality again and a wander around Leederville before and a meal after confirmed to me that the venue is one of the best around to go as an away fan. Although 12 bucks for pint of Swan at the Leederville Hotel was a bit rich!
