Have a listen to Malcolm Turnbull's response and then recant your previous comments on this topic.
no swan...you are the disgrace...its bleeding heart apologists for SHY like you and your ilk which have, and will continue to have blood on their hands. I have the upmost sympathy for the Syrian people trying to escape from ISIL but none whatsoever for the never ending tide of muslim scum who are not under threat and coming from other parts of the middle east and eastern europe just looking for a better life in Germany and Scandanavia. Merkel has a lot to answer for and hopefully will feel the wrath of the German voters at the next election.
BC, mate, I have to say I am very pessimistic about how all this will pan out, basically I think this struggle is one that the West or what was formerly known as the West cannot win, I was not the least suprised by the attacks in France and I can guarantee you they we get worse as time goes on. The situation in Europe is dire extremely so, the security situation will basically collapse , it cannot cope with the domestic numbers of local threats of a fanatical insurgent enemy, non existant border control, lunatic immigration policies have all done their damage, 10% of France is now islamic, Belgium Holland and many more countires have time bombs ticking, and of course we have Merkel who has sealed the fate of Europe with he insane open door approach...Mate demographics are destiny, there is no sign at all that tis will end well...its happening faster than many like me even expected, resolve to deal with it is absent, fear and deluded complicity of self destruction prevails rather than genuine determination solve the problem.
I'm hearing you bazza. I guess we're somewhat fortunate that we don't have the porous borders of most of Europe but even being an island continent we're still not immune as evidenced by Lindt Cafe and Curtis Cheng. My other concern is that a large percentage of lunatics here and abroad are home grown and born in the country they're terrorising. The big problem as I see it is that no aligned country wants to put boots on the ground in Syria or Iraq to deal with it once and for all. Air strikes alone won't do it and politics is preventing pushing troops onto the front line so until there is a co-ordinated approach by all including the likes of Saudi Arabia, Russia, Japan, Canada and so on, it will just continue to spiral out of control while millions of refugees flood into Europe unabated.
We are an island nation, but we already have a substantial cohort of islamic immigration that never existed 50 years ago, Lakemba might as well be Damascus, its a very different place to the rest of Austrlia. I think we have made a nasty rod for ourselves once again that we really needed not to do, once again we are being sold a dummy - cranking u another 12,000 new comers, when we already have problems with those that are here. What is it with Western Societies since 1960 onwards that they insist on pushing the self destruct button.??
I agree on the bombing , it will achieve very little, unfortunatly I dont even think a ground force would do the job, the problem is that most countries do not have the resolve to see a high casualty , viscious and destructive war out to the end, once the sacualties mount the media turn the population loses it stomache and folds, Obama packed his bags to early in Iraq, the end result was a mess, the we and the yanks bailed on Vietnam in the wake of Tet, ironically it was closests they were to winning, but support at home was exhausted. You cant fight and win without casualties and that includes civlians , but the west is answerable the insurgents are not, they know that getting an enemy bogged down in a violent counter insurgent war, using suicide bombers, IEDs, of a suicidal fanatical enemy thathas no fear of death and no restricion of behaviour is almost certain to deliver them victory, history is their favour until we can as a society to resolve to stay the course then that will not change.
it also means making so more important decisions at home, about what sort of society we want to be and who we want to live here, if that means ending immigration from certain groups then so be it, it also means a concerted policy of full intergration through assimilation of those that are here. The idea of seperate societies sold as "multiculuralsim has to end. Priority given to one language, banning certain practices like the full islamic dress for women etc. We cant have people walking around or cities thinking they are still living to the standards of Somalia or Saudi Arabia, is not good for them and certainly not good for us.
