James Hird fell of his bike apparently. Doctors say that it was very lucky he fell on his ego or the injuries could have been a lot worse. It also pays to have a thick skin in these incidents.

Was this a story designed to get James some sympathy? The reason I ask that is because it seems quite lame a grown man falling off a push bike. He had no injuries other than some "concussion". He looked fine smiling for his facebook photo.
Falling off a bike should hardly rate a mention given the events of the past week with Phil Walsh, real events that are far more important. Id say the public interest in this wouldn't rate much.

Gee that's a long bow. Lets get James to fall off his bike to get a bit of sympathy for him and take the publics minds off the WADA case. A night in hospital, even better. Grown men do fall off bikes, some people I know have been involved in nasty incidents where they have been hit by cars. Whether it is newsworthy or not is another matter but in this age where it is front page news when Tennis Australia says something nasty about a player then claims it was a 'typo' we shouldn't be too surprised.

definently a long bow I was half joking..."half".

certainly dont wish any harm of the man of course. falling off a bike can be serious considering Robbo on AFL360 last night expressed with a serious face it could have been life threatening for James. Anyway we are all preying for him with candle light vigils. We know he has access to the best doctors, best advice and best above board programmes available. Everything recorded on a spreadsheet so they can look back on his progress and account for anything, if anything went wrong. Im sure James would keep copies of it all too, because you never know these things can just go missing. And then it could cause a real problem. His priority should be his own health and because its him, there is no doubt James will make sure everything is done properly and recorded as such. Like he would do for his own players of course, if his players underwent for example an injection type programme. It would be incompetence of the highest order if say they had no record or no idea what players had absorbed into their systems.

Can you imagine such a senario? I guess that would be drawing a long bow, to think such a thing could be possible. Cant see it ever happening.

good point jardine...i wonder what he would say if the doctors and nurses who would have administered various drugs to him whilst in hospital didn't record it on his charts?

Keep em coming lads...lovin em :cheer: :cheer:

On a more salient note, has there EVER been a more "liked" respected figure in the AFL ( pre the drugs scandal) who is now genreally more dispised than JAMES HIRD? . Its an amazing turnaround.

UNKA2 apart from the obvious I think his unwillingness to apologise has done more damage to his reputation.

While I don't follow the AFL, and I rarely read the West Australian - I was stunned when watching the ABC early morning news to see that was our front page headline. I shake my head.
