It is truly sad that a very good coach, mentor and personality Phil Walsh has passed today.

I did not know the man but those who did speak highly of him.

We have lost a good man to tragic circumstances,
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Very tragic circumstances in this one - very sad to hear of a son take his father's life any time regardless of who it is

God only knows how this high profile family will cope to be honest it's just such a horrible situation

I just hope the media frenzy just sits back to give the remaining family some space to get their life together in the short term

Really feel for his wife & daughter right at this moment

RIP champ

Another terrible tragedy in this modern crazy fkd up world we now live in. RIP Phil and I hope his lovely wife gets better quickly. My God, how destroyed will she be? I simply can't imagine the family's agony.

We continue to hear of his commitment to his team his players his self development his travel his surfing his this his that but we don't hear anything about when he left the club he played golf with his boy, he spent time with his boy, me of suspicious mind may think his boy missed out to all these other unrelated boys who people keep calling family. Not for one minute do I condone this action but he was extraordinarily committed to his work and self development, what missed out???

Agree, an absession of any kind, means other things in life may suffer. Looks like Phil Walsh may have realised this, alas perhaps it was a little to late. Sad sad ending for all.

Kudos to the AFL, coaches, players and supporters for the way they dealt with a virtually impossible situation on the weekend. The right decisions were made even though emotions were obviously high. The tributes were moving and hopefully the Walsh family will be comforted and supported through what must be hell on earth for them. RIP Phil Walsh

Bang on Mikeh, this tragic incident was handled very well by every team in the AFL.

RIP Walshy.
