It was inevitable in a country like the USA that this was going to happen. Initially looked like a staged event but was a genuine assassination attempt and a gross failure by the security elements. Even attendies at the rally saw the gunman several minutes before the shooting and warned coppers but Trump was not removed from the stage. Sadly a couple of critical injures and a death of some nearby.

If the Demo's weren't already sunk, this will completely bury any hope for sleepy Joe. The Trump camp will use this to great effect and many who may have been wavering about Trump will jump on his band wagon, it promises to be a landslide imho.

Just as an aside, google "Project 2025" read some of the articles and be very very afraid for the American people and the rest of the world if Trump wins and the Repub's implement some or all of this extreme manifesto. Shades of Gilead out of the Hand Maids Tale series.

I thought it was a silly publicity stunt at first. Apparently not! Several people saw the gunman prior but trumps speech went ahead. The armed offender was said to be on a nearby rooftop approx 120 meters from the stage. The secret service should have arrested the guy to get some answers. Not "neutralize" the shooter by blowing his head half off. 1 other person also killed & 2 people seriously injured I believe. Apparently Trump out of hospital already. Will be interesting to see how he twists this story around?

I am absolutely stunned but I shouldn't be surprised. These things are common not just in the US. The JFK assassination was shocking and the attempted assisination of former President Ronald Reagan.

Trump showed what a courageous bastard he is the way he defiantly punched his first in the air and seeming to say Fight, Fight towards the crowd. Very lucky this cowardly attempt wasn't successful or at least more serious.

Trump "dodged a bullet" as the old saying goes only receiving a graze to his ear. Game over for Biden and the Democrats you would think. Careful what you wish for.

It's going to change the way Trump and any Presidential candidate performs these rallies in future. May have to be closed door events in the future or massive bullet proof shields which Trump won't like. He loves being up front and close to his supporters.

A lone wolf gunman or something more sinister. Watch this space. Just as I typed that Michael Usher has just said he's read reports it was a 20 year old with a fascination with anti fascism and guns but they are not reporting his name just yet.

The name of the gunman has just been released. He is/ was a local according to the news. I suppose in future, all the politicians will be standing behind bullet proof screening when speaking outdoors.

Lol, they have learned he previously made a donation to ActBlue, a political action committee that raises money for left-leaning democratic politicians. Probably registered himself with the Republican party so he could get close to Trump at one of his rallies.

Well the kid donated $15 to this group as a 17 year old,Donald Duck donated 1000’s to the Clinton’s before he became a so called Conservative, so are we to believe that the soft leftie libs are gun toting lunatics that sleepy Joe is using to assassinate his political rivals???
