Ground Hog day again in the USA with 19 beautiful kids and 2 teachers slaughtered by a pathetic 18 year old who was obviously mentally ill but if such hideous weapons were not accessible then these senseless tragedies just do not happen or not to this extent again and again and again. Pathetic, redneck hillbillies.

How many more of their kids are going to get slaughtered before the penny drops?  Time to stop patting yourselves on the back and realize you live in a brutal, dangerous country.

Until a few of the powerful gun lobbiests kids or grandkids get slaughtered at school. A bit like a fierce antivaxer begging for the vaccine on their death bed with Covid.

Sadly, the massive redneck NRA have way too much money and power and hold it over too may pollies, they hide behind their flawed constitution. The right to bear arms was for a time 200 years ago, not for now. If, as you say, a Senator or NRA boss's kids get slaughtered. all they will demand is more armed guards at Schools, arm the teachers etc etc. There are 100's of millions of guns in circulation already so even if they ban guns now the problem will persist. A good start might be a buy back system that John Howard brought in that was so successful, then either destroy them or send these guns to places under siege like the Ukraine. Given the massive number of guns already in circulation, maybe attack the problem from a different pov, start to severely restrict the distribution and availability of all forms of ammunition. Guns are just door stops without ammo. The red necks may still be able to make their own ammo but at least it wont be freely available at your local Walmart. Absolutely essential that the 50 recalcitrant senators that Steve Kerr referred to immediately pass the stalled laws regarding mental and background checks for gun purchases, that simple step would have found this killer and prevented the loss of so may lives.

Every western country has left and right leaning politicians,but the U.S.republicans have really become very morally bankrupt,particularly since the Orange Bozo's surge to prominence in 2016.They continually tried to downplay the seriousness of Covid, which is evidenced in the overwhelmingly worst vaccination and death rates in the so called ''red states''.and these areas are redneck and gun lobby heartland,and the republican senators and legislators will do absolutely nothing in aiding any amendments and changes to gun laws,and more than likely do everything they can to blocking them.

I skimmed through an article the other day that mentioned that Trump was helping to fundraise for the NRA.  Could be propping himself up for another tilt at the presidency….surely not??  That would be totally, totally irresponsible.
Why does the NRA have so much power?  Surely they’re not the majority?

Republican southern ''hick''senator Lindsay Graham was just on the news and stated that '' the right to bear arms is part of our second amendment rights''which shows the sick and twisted  cynical elements they have in that joint.

I was also reading an article yesterday, where someone at Fox news was interviewing someone about the killing, and this person (who I believe may have ben a parent of a child killed in the sandy hook massacre)  and they were giving every reason why these murders happened (except the availability of guns)

They even went as far as to say that its the parents of these kids fault as they should be making sure that they send their kids to better schools that have better escape routes and security etc

So if you can't afford to send your kids to private schools, your kids may get shot!!
I mean, really!!

Heard on the news yesterday old Biden talking tough and all serious. His comments will all come to nothing.
