Go my first shot last night, massive crowd, 1 hr late, but apart from that OK.

Was it late because there were a lot there to get vaccinated?  



 

Very large crowd in attendance, well run and but I think they had a few nurses down so hence the delay, a few people started complaining and they brought up some extra nurses from there it moved quick, the actual vax process takes about 2 mins, all the admin. check in is done prior, well organised set up in the Tom Willing Pavillion, water provided, plenty of seats, friendly security on hand, all the admin staff friendly young folks keeping things moving. Plenty of parking.

15 minute waiting area where you can also book in for your second jab, I'm down for August.

All in All a good experience.

yesterday I did develop some flu like symtons and hit the sack at 8pm pretty stuffed, but feel good now.

The AZ was not my first choice of Vax but was all that was available so I'll go with that, one of the Perth Magistrates there getting done in same batch as me.




 

Thanks for the reply Bazza.  On balance from what I have read about the AZ vaccine the risk to over 50s from the vaccine shot is far less than the consequences of COVID-19.  Also, I believe the AZ vaccine has been used extensively in the UK from the start of 2021.  Good luck with your second shot.

 

That's the way I see it, and if the government are giving the vaccine to the judiciary then it must be safe.

Bazz, not that it affects you or me, but by way of comparison, my pharmacist daughter said the incidence of clotting resulting from the various birth control pills women take is massively higher than AZ, but that doesn't fit well with the medias and anti vaxers scare campaigns to say so. Also far higher incidence of side affects from the flu vaccines which is on average around 60% affective, but again they don't want to broadcast that.
