Not Good, 39 Unlawful unjustified killings outside the rules of war and operational orders and 20 plus individual offenders, all special forces, all accepted by the ADF in today's report. Some include killing prisoners for the practice of "blooding" new soldiers for their first kill.

Sounds like some prosecutors will be busy.

This review has been widespread and thorough and it sounds like they will follow through with court cases, remains to be seen if any of these blokes will be found guilty. The same sort of enquiry was held by the Brits about their own SAS and not 1 soldier went to trial, a complete whitewash.

I feel for all the defence force people who went over there and did the right thing, the actions of a few should not reflect on the many, but the system needs a major shakeup.

Thats right about the UK, quite amazing, on top of that they are pushing for a statute of limitations which is real worry as these things can take a long time to investigate. I cant remember there being a statute of limitations on German or Japanese war crimes.

Not sure why this story has suddenly become the headlines in the news?
What's revealed in the report has been going on for donkeys years. And no-one gives a toss!
Between 5 & 10 years ago there being a report where an Afghan (I think an elderly farmer) man was taken to the outskirts of a village and pushed off a cliff. He suffered injuries from the fall and then was shot. Why was there no big uproar way back then?
What I find most strange is the higher command/ officialdom seemed to be oblivious to what has been happening?!
Now there are too many bad stories surfacing, far too many lies told and cover ups. A lot of questions need answering.
I realise not all the Aussie troops are involved in bad practices. Sadly it's cast a very dark shadow over everyone. Going to be very interesting to hear what Hawkins has to say for himself, if ever he says anything.

Probably as its first time its been confirmed.

Im incredulous that they say no one above Sgt is responsible or knew , give me a break. Platoon and Company Commanders must have known.

I think everyone needs to take a breath. We are getting caught up with the media and the investigation reports, and as we have seen recently with the Claremont serial killings, not all of the investigations lead to outcomes.

This has happened in every war in history, and I think we need to make judgments when both sides have given their story and all the facts are on the table.

If people did the wrong thing then yes caught marshal them, but until we have all the information lets not tarnish every person that wears the uniform and protects our country and the lives we all live.

Sorry , don't buy that at all seeing that the Chief of the ADF has already come out admitted failures and apologized for massive wrong doing, its really nothing to do with the media, but your head in the sand as much as you want but the writings on the wall.
