The query I have is will all of those that pilloried Rudd for his GFC process (not the batts but the money to folk and infrastructure) have the same attitude with the current government or will we see an acceptance that these types of strategies are necessary in times of critical economical crisis.

The cost will come from increasing debt cos the surplus was never going to be enough to even pay for the bushfire relief.

Dare I ask, who is your karma dig aimed at Grump?

No one in particular on here, but a lot of lib leaning folk raised issues regarding national debt following the GFC and then had their government increase it exponentially with their spending rather than recognise that it was a valid strategy at the time like the current one is! Both are fraught with danger and debt increases.

My point is that perhaps folk need to get off their particular soapboxes and recognise good government!

If folk decide they are the point of the comment that is their issue not mine, it is an unintended consequence of their beliefs not mine!

Perhaps Scotty from Marketing should try some of it.

Oh look! ......... he has.

I guess even such a political animal as Scotty can recognise when the good of the nation comes before his own ambition, and hubris.

Yep the stimulus package was good and appropriate back then and good and appropriate now, but Scotty has a long way to go "as a political animal" to match the ambition and hubris of K-Rudd, he has a lot to learn yet before getting into Ruddy's league.

Jack and Grumpy it’s no time for dick measuring. I think this crisis is going to be worse than GFC, probably is already. GFC didn’t create public panic, put enormous strains on the public health system, cause lock outs, cancelation of events, grind tourism to a halt and stop or restrict people from travelling. The worst is yet to come.

Heard this morning that the Corona virus will peak in August this year.So it's building up from early March. And will be under control by Xmas.So it looks like a shit 2020 year.
Just makes me wonder what the Chinese authorities where doing. The one doctor that spoke out was gagged.Sadly he fell to this disease. How long have the Chinese government known about this. And why wasnt the WHO involved earlier.
