A disappointing day for the Roos, a winning lead was achieved but could not finish off. A two point loss is tough but with two teams playing for a flag there is much to be happy about. Basso must be favourites going into next week. Not sure either of the clubs will make much of a dent next year in A grade and to stay up would probably be a win for both so good luck to them.

A man once said you gotta look at the ressies to judge the strength of a club. I’m not sure that’s quite true if your league doesn’t make finals and your 4s forfeit the last 3 games of the season due to declining numbers. But regardless, whit will be pumped and ready for next week after a good win.

Mount Lawley smashing swan ath in the Colts to set up a ripper next weekend. They looked very sharp indeed.

Enjoy the week ahead and savour the moment dor those involved.

Wanneroo were 20 points plus up on their way too a grade, umps were good all day.

Bit rich blaming umps after going out in straight sets after being the best team all year.

The Wanneroo crowd calling for Heals' head after halftime was a bit premature.

I do not think anyone was blaming the umpires - and if they were, they certainly should not be in MrM humble opinion. I would say it has been a good season from the club so far and that is from the outside looking in, as MrM is not privy to the inner sanctum dealings. Still 2 games to go as well - and as a side note Wanneroo were the only club in B Grade with all 3 teams in finals.

The bolded comment would be by far the most idiotic comment I have ever read on any forum in MrM lifespan.

Yes Mr M, supporters do get very passionate during games and things are said...

Very curious to how you know so much about the inner workings of Whitfords yet so seperated from Wanneroo.

May I suggest shorts in early September is not a good look for you.

Two personal attacks in back to back posts.
Unfortunately this does not reflect well on yourself.
More so MrM was not in shorts yesterday.

A man once said it would be a disaster if a side went out in straight sets…

Good luck to all teams involved next week.

Hardly an insult Me M, plenty of good weather this week to build the tan.

Wanneroo in GF with Ressies & Colts, 2 home finals, nearly a perfect season.

Yeah from my view at the ground, it seemed the umpires failed to grasp the urgency of calling time on.  It seemed bizarre that in the first incident involving the injured West Coast player with about 5 minutes to play for the field umpire to jog the width of the ground to ask for the click to stop.  It seemed as thought a good 2 minutes were lost from the player going down and umpire calling time on.

And in the second incident having no further play with 45 seconds left  in a 2 point game was strange.

Long time listener - first time caller. I was at the game and clicked my timer for 25 minutes as the siren sounded to start the last. I was also on the far side of the ground where the West Coast player got injured with just under 5 minutes to go. The boundary umpire was right there and when the field umpire arrived and saw his arm was broken they called time off. It was pretty much right in front of me and I reckon he’d been on the ground for 15-20 seconds at most before one of the central umpires got there and time was called. I got Siri to stop my timer when I saw the umpire gesture to the timers (he did it from where he was which the far side and didn’t jog over to the members side as suggested above) and then I restarted my timer as he called time back on again. At the final siren I was only out by 1 second so the umpire’s gesture to the timers from the far side must have been picked up at the same time that I did so I can confirm no time was lost.

I agree the second one should have been called time off but it should have also been a free to West Coast so I doubt it would have changed the result.
