Considering Aust never made it passed 300 v India despite the "closeness" in all 3 games.....not sure the logic behind Lynn nor Wade getting a gig before the WC TBH....one with Lynn being Aust best right handed boundary clearer and Wade being in season lasting best form....also Short is only in for cover for Shaun Marsh.....no score under 300 is going to get Aust over the line in the WC.....think the bowling attack is probably spot on with a good mix of bowling types....just feel the batting lacks any true power.....especially if Finch continues in his last 6 month of ODI form...middle order of Uzzie, Marsh and Handscombe is pedestrian at best v the likes of Bairstow, Root ,Buttler or Amla, Du Plessis, Miller.....Short, Marsh, Lynn...for me has a good mix....


Addit...I see Wade is putting the likes of Richardson to the sword...probably venting his frustration at being overlooked by G&T and JL.....Wade is making Darcy look pedestrian like too

At least Australia are now are cert to win, if not it can only be the weather and of course not picking all 7 in the team at once that can stop them.

Great that Ashton Turner has been given an opportunity. He has probably been picked for his power and ability to clear the boundary regularly because at this stage his one day ( 50 over) record is nothing special with four fifties and no centuries in 30 matches. He is a very good 20/20 player though.

Being a bit of a Wade fan myself, I read an interesting article about the squad make up today. The author of the article said there was 2 things against him. One was that he wasn’t West Australian. The other was that he wasn’t a good team man. He claimed that Wade was very mouthy to the opposition and to his team mates. There’s a bit of history with him that Langer does not like. Love to be a fly on the wall.

Interesting to read that Wade was told to bat higher in the Tassie side if he wants a look in at returning to the next level.....yet Patterson scores his runs for NSW at 4 but bats 6 for Aust....and Finch bats 5 for Vic and opened for Aust????......really think Hohns needs to follow Chappells lead .....good to see Ponting in the WC for Aust......

Ponting has already stated that both Smith and Warner will be part of the World Cup plans so given that Finch will also play, it makes it very competitive for the other batting spots.
