I saw a bit of the recent Shield game played at Perth Stadium and much like the WACA wicket there is a bit in it for the bowlers but if you are prepared to put your head down and get through the first hour or 2 at the crease you can score runs but that maybe a battle for some of our batsmen tho!

I always said they would not fill it on a regulr basis: the exceptions being the Ashes tests and big footy games. They have tried hard to build up the India series, but there is simply not the interest in it.

Anch: As you know, it is not the end of the world if it is only half full; I think the crowds will be okay in the east where there are big Indian populations; this will be even more s, if India get on top in the series.

Have they picked the side yet?

If the crowds aren't great I put it down to the disgust of the Australian cricketing public to sandpapergate and the arrogance of the Australian team and CA.

So Mitch Marsh has been dropped from the squad and will play for WA this week against the Vics to try and regain some form. Probably not a massive surprise although he did get a couple of wickets in the recent shield match and his omission means that Australia will not have a 5th bowling option in Adelaide. Hopefully none of the front liners break down. The batting looks a bit better with Handscomb and Harris slotting in, both are in good form. The only thing to be decided is whether Finch or Khwaja will open with Harris.

A former NSW fast bowler will be happy.

Doesn't really matter what sport you play. When your close to the bottom only the die hard fans turn up.Also India's refusal to play a Day +Night Test in Adelaide. Has ticket sales right down for the Adelaide test.If AU are competitive in Adelaide. Perth will get a decent turn out.

Having spent many hours and days watching sport in the sun (e.g. the Australian Open) forcing people to sit in the sun rather than in the shade when shade is available is hardly conducive to promoting good attendances.

Well if the VC is open fodder to be dropped, let's see if the skipper is a target as well....Paine needs to score runs then he does....gone are the days where the keeper is only there to don the gloves....nice guy is our Tim, but would love him to hit the scoreboard a tad more than he does.....runs are currency for selection apparently....didn't that young CA Xl keeper score a 100 v a fully fledged Indian attack the other day?.....

good choice going for Handscomb over Mitch....Handscomb has atleast consistently made runs so far this year.....strengthen the batting order and hope the bowling attack ruffles a few Indian feathers....

Freeze it is amazing to think Paine has been playing first class cricket for 13 years and only has 1 first class century with the bat and that must have been nearly 12 years ago!
I am not sure his keeping is of that great a standard that his batting deficiencies can be overlooked!
I personally would prefer Carey or Inglis take the gloves as they are also better bats than Paine atm and one to keep an eye on is Harry Nielsen (Tim's son) from SA who is Carey's understudy atm but scored a century vs India just recently and batted very well vs WA in the Shield match in Adelaide just recently.
