Great to see the USA beat Pakistan last night, great for the development of the game in the states and cricket as a whole. Oman pushed Aust all the way the other night as well. The pitches are providing a greater challenge than the IPL pitches fir the batsmen.....which is great to see.

England will be desperate to win the Aust match, after their 1st up match v Scotland was washed out....saying that the Scottish were doing well after 10 overs,  being 0/90 odd.

Very interesting first week or so of this tournament. There have been some unexpected results and we see the possibility of two associate nations (USA and Scotland) qualifying for the Super 8s ahead of Pakistan and England.
South Africa and Australia have already qualified, India will probably join them tonight, Afghanistan are looking very dangerous with their 3 pronged spin attack which is perfectly suited to the conditions. New Zealand will have to beat the West Indies tomorrow to stay in the tournament. Sri Lanka are already cooked and Bangladesh will be sweating on their game against Netherlands to keep their hopes alive
The Aussies are sitting pretty and they will have the fate of England in their hands when they play Scotland on Saturday. That would be a very pleasureable prospect for them. Of course they are not going to throw the game, you don't mess with form but they may be tempted not to go hell for leather chasing a target either to ensure that Scotlands net run rate stays ahead of Englands. They may also play Agar, Green and Inglis to give them a run.  Of course this assumes England will thrash Oman and Namibia first which they should do.
Any more wash outs or no results means the Poms are going home early anyway

not really an admirer of the concept but the scores have been quite low compared to what was expected
the New York pitch has been called unfit by a couple of well known ex-players and looking at some footage it's on the mark
and there's been upsets which will see some big guns going home with empty pockets
SA , Aust & WI look assured already probably Scots & Afgans are in too

About time the bowlers got a look in, in the T20 format, great to watch. Aus, India, SA, and the WI all qualified for the next stage....with Afghanistan, Scotland and the USA on the cusp....with Pakisan and Eng not dead n buried just yet.

Be interesting to see if Aust take a more measured approach v Scotland, protecting Scotland's NRR some what, when the two teams play. Obviously Aust will be looking for the win, but how they do it and if it helps Scotland more than England.....well so be it.

With England absolutely thumping Oman and bumping their Net Run Rate above Scotland in the process, and assuming they do likewise against Namibia, the only way the To and Froms could miss out on qualifying for the Super Eight stage is if Australia lost to the Scots.
Yes, upsets do happen, but if Scotland did knock off the Aussies, I think the ICC would do some serious "digging" given the earlier speculation about NRRs.

The only other factor is the weather ADGM. If either game is washed out, Scotland get through. England would be happy that none of the games are in Florida which is in the middle of a cyclonic weather pattern

Ironically, Mike, that fickle Florida weather has helped the US qualify for the Super Eights, irrespective of the remaining Group A results.

Pakistan lost to USA, so I reckon thats fair enough. Dizzy Gillespie is going to lose the rest of his hair coaching this mob.
Nepal came within one run of having a public holiday in Kathmandu. They so nearly got over the line against South Africa but the experience of the professionals just got them home.
It is hilarious the way some American reporters are describing the games. When India comfortably chased down USAs 110 with 7 wickets and a few overs to spare, an American reporter stated excitedly that the US had narrowly lost the game 111-110 as if it was a basketball match!
