gtr: also, Stokes' declaration in the first test was stupid to say the least, Root still batting and all. Very few captains have declarred at just 400 in the first innings. In terms of the bowling cartel which others have mentioned with aplomb, the declaration meant that Australia did not take 20 wickets in the test match. 

From memory Ark..Bairstow put 3 or 4 down in the Aussies first innings.Joe Root dropped 2 at first slip.And Stokes also dropped a few.
If they had taken there catches.It could of been a great declaration. 

gtr: good post mate and that is certainly all true in regards the first test; equally, the skipper insisted on Bairstow, as they insisted on Buttler as keeper in the series out here, a selection, which, also went unswimmingly. He has also insisted on Anderson to his cost.
