Discussions between CA+ 7+Foxtel/Kayo are progressing..Next season will start the new TV deal.
Channels 7 relationship with CA is terrible.7 has CA in court over the BBL,and are unhappy with the one sided test matches
.Foxtel and Kayo subscriptions are growing fast Fox 4.3 million Kayo 2.2 Million.
However the potential to live stream matches to the Asian market.Has 7 upping it's bid to keep the Cricket.
Fox /Kayo/7
The current contract is $192million a season.
The new deal offered to CA is7 Year Contract at $210 Million per season.1.4 Billion over 7 years.Making Cricket the largest Australian summer sport by miles.
Foxtel paying the lion's share. It may put International ODI's+ BBL behind pay wall windows.
Problems for CA is the lack of competitive Test Nations.Sides that are competitive at home and away.Au,India,England and Nz...RSA have a shield standard batting line up with there black+white team roster.
Channel 10/Paramount
Here comes the can of worms .
American bosses of Paramount where shocked to watch the pitch invasions in the A-League.
And have instructed the Australian arm to televise a tier 1 sport.Ten currently does A-League and NBL.
The tier 1 sports are
1.AFL
2.NRL
3.Summer of Cricket
4.Tennis Grand Slams
5.Super Rugby
6.EPL
7.Melbourne Spring Carnival
8.All World Cups/Olympics/Comm Games

The only contact up for grabs is Cricket.Ten done a great job with the early BBL.

Paramount would be keen to stream into India. With access and a foot in the door in that massive Asian market.Unclear what Paramount has offered CA.But it higher than the 7/Fox/Kayo bid.
Salty News Corp
News Corporation had threatened to not report on Cricket. On there news services if CA accept the Paramount bid.lol.

Hope so PH .9 is the real home of Cricket.
It would be with Fox/Kayo like 7's bid.
The story I quoted my blog from wasn't a News Corp ,media outlet. It was from India.

Channel 7 wouldn't be and aren't the only one CA has had fractious dealings with over the years - just go back to when Kerry Packer took them on due to player unrest and undoubtedly wanting to broadcast cricket
CA had Channel 2 / ABC before that and had a free hand in dictating to them for years
Just personally I thought Channel 9 have provided the best coverage of cricket but unfortunately the very best of commentators have sadly left us now or recently retired

CA was also conserned that Paramount could not stream into India. As they have no streaming service there, atm.
Lol I think CA was scaired of News Corp.Would not care if it was on 7 or 10.
BBL salary cap from 2.9 mill to 4 million.
7 also wants two NZ teams north and south island.

I don't watch a lot of cricket but we can all breath a sigh of relief that CA knocked back Paramount+. Their streaming service is an absolute joke. Last year they promised to fix it well they've done SFA.

It's worse than watching live TV which you can do through your hard drive recorder and record it but if you aren't even recording it you can pause, rewind and FF through a hard drive recorder.

If you watch an A League game through Paramount+ and missed the start then tough titties there is nothing you can do except watch it from live but don't go for a piss or to get a drink because you can't pause or rewind. Basically it's like TV in the old days before video recorders were invented.

Only reason I subscribe is it's the only way to watch A League and there's been a few good other things I've watched and recently they offered me a 40% discount to upgrade to annual so it works out around $4.50 per month now.

Not only those technical disadvantages, their game day coverage is vastly inferior to Fox/Kayo. Less replays, less camera angles and poorer pre game and post game coverage. Soccer needs to find a way to get back on Fox/Kayo.
Get on your bike.
