Grassy, always liked my history as I believe we should never forget the lessons of the past.
This just shows that the afl will always be the vfl and that west aussies are being crucified at the expense of victorians, as you stated all those points are pretty self evident.
The biggest cost to us is in the demise of the WAFL. We have developed probably the best football system in the world for participation in our game and this is being compromised in WA by the lack of support by the afl and the wafc towards a pivotal structure (being the WAFL) in the balance of this system.
The afl influence is not going to change overnight but what can change is the psyche of the wafc in its direction of inputs that at all times it ensures the state of football in WESTERN AUSTRALIA has first priority.
By putting it in the too hard basket in keeping the i/p noteholders on the books will keep the wafc afl centric at the expense of the WAFL. This would have to be done by legislation of course but easily done.

Its in the to hard basket and no votes in it.

Carpenter might have if he was around longer!

Also depends if the wafc present a case to the government.

Just incredible, yep Vfl was on the bones of its arse in 86,yet they bluffed the wafl numpties here that all was ok and they would have to pay top dollar to join the comp. Some poor mug in Brisbane blew a mint on the bears, in the end worth nothing.

Sanfl were far smarter.

Wafl was broke by 89 after the Indian Pacific shambles and massive debts from insolvent Wafl and subi stand loans, Burkie stepped in and bailed wafl out.
