Very interesting pick up this one. No doubt there is a risk with Freo taking him on board but I for one think it's a risk worth taking. In trade terms the price won't be very much at all and the salary will be subject to all sorts of performance clauses. He is a huge talent if Ross Lyon can get him on the straight and narrow he will be a massive injection of pace and goal scoring talent.
Time will tell I guess. There will be critics of the choice of course.

Ross "won" with Walters, but lost with Lovett (at the saints) and Silvia here.
Just "hope" he Bennell doesnt drag Walters back to the dark side.
Yes its a huge risk, and to be honest i think Ross HAS to take this risk. In reality he has nothing to lose, as Freo need a bit more flair. The fact that no-one else wanted him is a concern, and bit like Benny, best place may be "away" from the distraction of ya old haunts etc. If the media is too be believed his mother wanted him in Melb for this reason. Time indeed will tell.

Good on Freo for having a go I guess - not that I wish them luck! There's a reason why other clubs don't want him, but if it comes off their recruiters will look like geniuses. Will they have enough tickets left to get that key forward they need?

Failed with Lovett or failed Lovett?? Lets not forget he was found not guilty then his afl career ended.

Agree, THOUGH its if he leaves any residue "problems" in the club and if he influences other players that could be a problem.

The blokes got more baggage than qantas, didnt his mother want him out of WA to avoid bad influences? Interesting to see if any other clubs put out the feelers , if they dont then you can safely say he is trouble with a capital T.

I think both would be a good fit for Freo but is Black still up to it ??? How did he go this year ???
If he costs bugger all then I suppose he's worth a punt ???
