I'm more than a bit peeved Sinclair was drafted after Subi brought him over to play WAFL. Bugger all can be done about it and it's terrific for Callum but I can't think of any other time where a guy has been recruited across from the east specifically to play WAFL and picked up in the AFL draft.

Didnt get to see the game but was happy to see the result. I keep telling myself to not get too excited, and that it is only NAB, but its good to see them win against 2 of the main premiership contenders of this year.

Justin Perkins Perth,recruited in 2004 from North Ballarat to Perth drafted in the next season in 2005 to North Melbourne.
Played 20 games for Perth in 2004.

I think Silent but deadly is the only one getting excited here,i cant see 1 post here that would suggest anything other than commenting on a game of footy and as you say Anchorman you are the author of this topic and dont barrack for the Eagles in the first place.

I don't think anyone is getting excited over a couple of practice games. I'm sure most people realize that pre season is just that. I must admit though, after last year's debacle, it was good to watch them win 2 in a row. Still, let's see when the real stuff starts.

Wayde Twomey- Werribee to Swans then drafted to Carlton for 2011 then back to Swans now at your mob!

yes they do look good the eagles. was interesting to see their coach express show some perspective about the results. he seems a level headed fella. certainly not getting carried away. they should make the 8 but so should about 14 sides. February is a long way from September. both WA clubs could be prominent likewise the SA clubs

Pains me to say it (cue 58Shark!!) but i think the Eags will finish above my beloved Cats this year. There i've said it!!

I rate geelong very highly.
I think the top four from last year could well be top four again.
Cant see any of them get weaker, only injuries will change that.

Such a shame to hear about Gumbleton, the boy cant catch a break
