Read the whole report and im not sure how they can get out of this. Reckon there could be trouble at bomberland for time to come yet

I'm not sure what the AFL were trying to achieve by releasing the charges and the letter from Doc Reid into the public domain. Apparently Hird's lawyers only received this information minutes before it was released. This would reinforce the argument that Hird and Essendon are being "tried by media" and are not being afforded natural justice and due process.

Whatever happens from here, this issue is threatening to engulf the entire AFL finals series and I think someone like Mike Fitzpatrick needs to intervene and remove Demetriou from the process as I think he is totally conflicted now. Maybe an independent tribunal need to look at this because without doubt the Bombers have a case to answer and you wouldn't want to see them get off because they were not afforded due process.

mark robinson has spent the whole year printing stories about the bombers. last night he back tracked massively based on so called information the AFL had "hidden" from them. in other words he thought he was made to look a fool and essendon were hard done by. with that robinson absolutely paid out on the AFL and Demetriou & he was almost apologizing to hird and essendon.

now suddenly this letter has come out for all to see.

Now robinson could be back tracking again the other way.

i would imagine the AFL have released this info based on that public slaughter. the letter now justifies a few things in the AFLs favour. It doesnt look good for hird or essendon.

100% agree with you mikeh...how can you be both a witness & a judge on any matter...if the police were permitted to judge on any case they brought before our courts there would be a 100% conviction rate....due process and natural justice will not be afforded to Essendon and today just further reinforces that this has become trial by media. If Hird is right and the AFL & ASADA have broken laws in this investigation where do we go from now. After reading the charges how Bomber Thompson is charged with bringing the game in to disrepute when basically all they have stated that he was involved in the hiring of Robinson is beyond me also. This whole process will end up in the Supreme Court for sure and then maybe we'll get to see if the Big Greek still thinks if he has a conflict of interest or not when required to provide answers under oath.

Have you read the charges that were made public today, the shit stain that is James Hird should be banned for life.

I wasnt aware Danks was also involved with Cronulla Sharks as well.
I was a bit of a fence sitter but after watching the 0730 report and getting a few more facts I am convinced their was not duty of care to the players and a lot more is involved with the import of the supplements etc
Down to the point of a barred person actually making the Supplements with unsafe ingrediants

This has got more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel. After today, it looks as though the golden boy has shite up to his armpits. If today's stories are fact, then the Doc has to be cleared. As an aside, I have to wonder if Bomber Thompson wasn't dragged into this against his will. This sort of garbage that Hird is into, is not really what I would have thought Thommo would normally be a part of. There's something about their Anthony Mundine look alike (President) that makes me think "sleazy" as well.

Yeah it looks like Reid may be hard done by, his letter is enough to sink Essendon and Hird with out the other charges and unfortunately for the players I expect to see infractions after Asada finishes their investigation.

I wanna hear Hird's side of this story before I convict him. Reading the charge sheet today spoke more of Dank than against the 4 men charged. Bad governance, yes, but deliberate drug cheats is a different thing altogether especially if they have been undermined by people they trusted that work for them in full confidence. The fact that confidential information is being released to the media in what is supposed to be an ongoing investigation in to links of criminal elements in to professional sporting organisations is a worry in itself.

I've decided after watching tonight's news and 7.30 report , that Essendon and Hird are going to make complete fools of themselves by adopting this confrontational, lack of acceptance of responsibility stance,,,all they can do is make their club look like a farce.

Morally I don't think Essendon can possibly win this in anyway,,,I think they are going down the shit shoot at a very rapid rate.
