No the flight to launceston is direct. There is no stopover. Sure your not going to play finals at launceston. Freo or the eagles might not play finals at all, or they could earn a home final. They both play at the gee and at etihad during the season anyway and play 11 games in perth where they have a huge advantage.

Being from the West we have had to learnt to live with travelling every second week. We are beyong that. But the fact that we get less games in Melbourne and Melbourne teams travel less (as is mentioned above) is quite pathetic.

I am not sure who decides which games get scheduled, as they are being sold by the Home team, does the home team decide which round and who they are versing? Or does the AFL have a say in this? Would be good to know. If it is just the Home team's say, then I guess that is entirely up to them and we cannot complain. But if the AFL have input, then it is ridiculous.

If foxtel and Channel 7 have input its even more ridiculous

There will be no finals played in Launceston, so why should clubs like WC/Freo/Crows/Port etc have to give up our chance to play on a finals ground to go and play in Tasmania? It just makes it harder for interstate teams and a lot easier for Victorian based teams.

Joan if you do not understand this and then agree with it your thoughts on AFL can not be taken seriously.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Not sure what you are referring to Time for a flag.My views on the afl should not be taken seriously and like yours are of little consequence either. You have a wish list of fantasy. There is nothing wrong with that but Carlton will never merge with Melbourne. Port will not merge with st kilda. North will not move to the Gold Coast. Your 14 team afl with every game a blockbuster will not happen. You have no regard for history or battling clubs from Victoria. That is fair enough. I would like to see north stay in Melbourne and don't care if the afl gives them 2.5 million a season to help them do so. That is small change compared to 425, 000,000 annual revenue or 200 million over 5 or 6 years into expanding horizons.

Joan, the current topic is on non Victorian teams traveling to Tassie and where ever North Melbourne sell their games to. The points raised are:

1)Victorian Clubs should be made to travel more.
2)Non Victorian Clubs should be given more chances to play on the two Victorian grounds. Particularly the MCG.

You have obviously chosen to ignore this (because you actually agree but dont want to say so)or you are unable to keep up with the flow of written communication.

No, point 1 is Victorian clubs should be made to travel to Tasmania. I understand why the hawks and north play other Victorian clubs in Melbourne not tassie. It makes sense. as a west coast fan It does not bother me if we play in launceston instead of Melbourne. I also think it is good to take the games to different parts of the country.

Lack of games at the gee has not stopped west coast, Adelaide, Brisbane, port and Sydney winning flags.

This is an issue you definitely feel more passionate about than me.
