My solution Mike would be for West Coast and Fremantle squad players to play each other every week, and leave the WAFL comp to the traditional clubs who are serious about trying to win games. Of course that won’t happen, but I can dream.

It would be a disaster Mike. After the WCE performances this year, the only way the Dockers would have a stand alone team is if they got recruiting concessions. Then of course WCE will want the same. Hopefully, both the Dockers and Peel realise that they would be uncompetitive without each other and leave it as is. 

I read an interview with Cam Shepherd reflecting on his 9 years as Peel coach. It's cute that he thinks Peel have earned the respect of the WAFL.

Yes I have all the respect in the world for Peel and the WAFC after they were allowed to parachute 17 AFL listed players into the 2016 GF and then the umps put the result beyond doubt by awarding 19 free kicks to 6.

I haven’t seen anything official but you would think Peel moving on Cam Shepherd was initiated by Fremantle. I think it’s highly likely they will carry on. Schofield, Hancock and Howlett have announced their retirements. 

Freo will appoint one of their assistants to coach Peelmantle, for all intents and purposes they run the club, they do what they want, plus Peel get a free ride again, not having to pay for a coach this time.

This is so wrong.
A club that has no heart, no soul, no real respect…..absolutely nothing, is allowed to manipulate the “rules” and wins 2 fake flags.  On top of that, they will become a very rich club without lifting a finger.  At least most clubs have got off their arses and earned their keep.  What chance will they ever have of having a real tradition, or do they care?
This is so wrong.

They are the WAFC's love child so they are not allowed to fold as that will reflect on the WAFC, but any footy follower with half a brain, agrees thy are a pox on the comp and will remain so as long as they are conjoined with Freo. They either pay up all their debts to the WAFC and become a stand alone team which may gain them some semblance of respect, or admit the fact they are truely the Freo reserves and get officially absorbed into the FFC.
