Everyone's entitled to their opinion TFAF but I think that idea won't work. What would happen to the six junior teams that get taken away. There would be eight teams in the WAFL wanting to pick at least on of those teams up for their district. Do senior amateur clubs have zones or restrictions like there are in the juniors? And how would West Perth get looked after if a new team was to move in their?

But what should be more worrying is the thought that many players may leave to go to the VFL or the SANFL.That is a much more worrying scenario than them leaving Peel and East Perth for other local clubs.

Not surprising that you know nothing outside of the AFL but the WAFL salary cap is actually a lot higher than the VFL's!!
Stick to the AwFL buddy!! B)

Bh it is not a case of me knowing nothing about the salary cap.The fact remains that the local clubs will come under notice from the VFL clubs and players may be poached.it is not all about money.
I will stick the the AFL,but will still not stop me from commenting about issues within the WAFL that interest me.You see I can converse about both unlike some here.I am not blind folded.
you should look at posters like Swan42,mikeh and a few others who can still be WAFL followers but still hold a decent discussion about football.
Maybe you will gain some credibility when you can do the same.

Gain Crediblity?? What from you lol

in reference to the start of this topic - i feel east perth will lose quite a few key players after this season. still cant work out how the salary cap system is supposed to work now in fairness. anyway that is an issue nobody wants to answer because they quite simply they cannot.
east perth do have some good players who id expect will not like being made to feel like second fiddlers. and fact is they will not be anything other than ring ins. the royals board have made a rod for their own backs and i think they will be regretting selling their soul. other clubs id expect will be already targeting their big guns. if not they are very stupid. claremont will be very active as they always are. clubs like perth and west perth could benefit greatly from a few key inclusions.

There are a few players who will leave EP next year, although not all due to the alignment.

Swan will retire
Wulf will retire
Seal will retire or play somewhere else
Moss will be either back in Victoria but will not be at EP

Then there is Josh Smith who I think might still be EP given the employment issue and a ense that he wants to stay and win more than he loses.

Johnson will stay (an opinion not a fact)

The next group of players such as Freddie Clutterbuck, Matt Gordon and others have not made much noise abt next year so I will wait and see!

The other issue in this is at clubs who go after players and the players who that drop out there, seems that a few country and other clubs maybe improving their stocks next year!

At least we now know that some players are unhappy. This was to be epxected still some pretty handy footballers not listed in above posts who would fit into the structure of some other WAFL clubs.

Perth will lose McInnes and Tunbridge(2 forwards) to EP next season so if we go hard after Josh Smith like we should we would only be replacing what we are losing!

I remember Smith went to West Perth when he finished in the AFL and virtually said who ever offers the most money is where he would end up therefore West pulled out of the race. So to attract Smith to any club would want to come up with big cash because he would be playing there for money only. Not sure if that's the direction Perth want to go down. But of course he would be very handy

Hes a good wafl player and if hes worth it..pay it.

McIness will be a huge loss for us next season and i think whoever the key forward is we recruit to replace him has to already have league experience,i reckon a guy like Smith would be a perfect fit for us(we just dont have another KP forward in the club, forget about Houghton hes light years away from becoming a league footballer!!)
i would slightly pay over market value to get him.
Just my humble opinion of course.
