Well there we have it.....really thought with WCE entering the comp that was the energy needed to spark a bit of interest into this great ole comp.....but no it has been trumped by the ladies coming on board....no doubt might attract a few more punters to the game....if admission is free that is....after watching the "elite" go about their business with goalless halves of footy, 5-6 goal matches totals not sure the girls bumping off the colts or reserves on matchday really is the answer....

Will be interesting if folk coming solely to watch the ladies play(family/friends) will be prepared to pay a WAFL entry free.....scarpering before the men leagues games.....out of interest is there an entry fee to the existing ladies games?.... obviously the colts and reserves don't pull in huge numbers due to their starting times on match days.....but surely making the ladies play at 5pm is more beneficial for club solidarity/continuity than the existing colts or reserves?......don't the ladies teams have different coaching/voluntary support staff than the men's team.....thought the AFL wanted the colts to play at better starting times anyway rather than slippery dewey 0900 winter playing conditions.....Will be interesting how the powers above will drive this new initiative and how it is received and it's knock on effect to all levels concerned.

The AFL have there list of priorities. AFLX+Womans Afl.They don't care about any tier 2 competition.
It will take 3 decades before woman's Afl is watchable.Like the current woman playing cricket.AFLX is just garbage. And they have to offer major $$$ to get any players interested.

Mate...with no disrespect to the ladies who bust their guts on the field and at training etc...the standard is pretty atrocious. Ive stayed after the league game in previous years for a drink and watched a bit of the girls when they kicked off at 5pm and it's nothing to write home about that's for sure. If they're now playing before the league then I'll rock up at 2:15 instead of half time of the ressies like I used to.

Has anyone who attends WAFL games (and pays attendance fees) actually been consulted about this?
I am a SDFC member I watch the SD Colts, Reserves & League Games and many other WAFL games when SD have a bye or are playing on another day and yet not one WAFC or SDFC official has ever asked me if I would be in favour of this in fact I have never seen anyone from the WAFC officials consulting WAFL attendees ever.
I hope these WAFC clowns have consulted the WAFL club volunteers who will now have to give up both days of their weekend with the Colts and Reserves forced to play on the Sunday whilst the League side play Saturday just to appease the WAFC/AFL with their womens football push even....it could be very embarrassing if these club volunteers can’t or don’t want to...hmm maybe that’s why their has been a push for supporters to help out on game days as a volunteer?
Anyways like BC that will free up my Saturday mornings as I will be arriving at 2pm rather than 9am if the Colts & Reserves are not playing. I am not sure this has been thought through thoroughly as this will also result in less revenue in my books.

BH the AFL are the puppet masters here. The Wafc need a strongly worded letter from Swan42.Wish they would just leave our footy alone.
As you stated a few months ago.The Afl colts was a joke ,it didn't draft more than one handfuls of players. The colts need to be in a club environment.

Well at least we now know why the Reserves and Colts fixtures have taken so long to come out.

I’m not even slightly interested on AFLX nor the women’s comp. You’d hope it’ll die a natural death, but today’s generation would turn up for an ice cream eating competition.
